“With clean slate design, is it possible to simultaneously simplify network and protocols and increase network dependability, economic sustainability, and security?”
Documentação disponível bastante desatualizada...

Esforços Clean-Slate FP7
Dezenas de projetos em várias áreas.

Esforços Clean-Slate FP7 – SENSEI
“In order to realise the vision of Ambient Intelligence in a future network and service environment, heterogeneous wireless sensor and actuator networks (WS&AN) have to be integrated into a common framework of global scale and made available to services and applications via universal service interfaces.”
http://www.sensei-project.eu/
Esforços Clean-Slate FP7 – 4WARD
“The need for structural changes in the Internet is becoming increasingly evident. 4WARD is combining a set of radical architectural approaches building on a strong mobile and wireless background to design inter-operable and complementary families of network architectures.”
“Until recently, the common vision of a future ubiquitous network was based on the continuing evolution of the IP family of protocols and networking techniques. Now, however, senior researchers accompanying the IP development from its beginning have started to ring the bells as the IP evolution seems, for several reasons, to be coming to a critical turning point.”

Esforços Clean-Slate FP7 – EIFFEL
“Today’s Internet was never designed to be a critical part of the European economy infrastructure - but it has become exactly that. In the light of these developments, there are many questions today on how the Internet will develop in the future. It is apparent that the Internet must change and that the change is likely to be revolutionary. It is expected that today’s Internet will evolve into the “Future Networked Society”.

Esforços Clean-Slate FIND – Future Internet Design
“Invites the research community to consider what the requirements should be for a global network of 15 years from now, and how we could build such a network if we are not constrained by the current Internet -- if we could design it from scratch.”
Mantém outros projetos: Ambient Networks e Extreme Wirelessing: Prototyping a Future Global Network.
