products, services and companies in the Sundsvall region
This is an overview of products and services in the cleantech area that companies and innovators can offer a national and international market from the Sundsvall region in mid Sweden.
The overview should be a support for those seeking sustainable solutions in different areas, or want to be a bridge between the stakeholders and technical solution. Each company is described with respective products and/or solutions. The initial matrix shows to which t segment of technology firms belong.
Our definition of cleantech is the same as EU's definition. Cleantech / environmental technology are "all the new technology that is less harmful to the environment than available alternatives." Cleantech is thus a generic term for solutions that facilitate the transition to a sustainable society.
This information has been documented and compiled with resources from the SAMT- project (Cooperation for Growth) in collaboration with The Business Development Center (Näringslivsbolaget) in Sundsvall. It will be continuously updated.

2MA Technology AB Product area: Products and services for improving the efficiency of transport. Material: Intelligent control and measurement systems for monitoring and follow-up of vehicle's fuel consumption, speed, mileage logs and bookings. Areas of use: In all types of road-bound vehicle, both freight transport and small cars. Environmental characteristics: 2MA's system reduces environmental impact through fewer emissions of carbon dioxide, reduced fuel consumption and less wear and tear of vehicle. It also benefits the vehicle with a longer lifetime and reduced maintenance and repair costs. Increased awareness and training of drivers of vehicles also reduces the risk of accidents. About the product/service: 2MA delivers turnkey solutions for both companies and private individuals with products, services and training for more efficient transport and driving. Also, analyses, follow-ups and monitoring as well as ISA, Intelligent support for adjustments of speed in one system which tells the driver the speed limit that applies. Absolicon Product area: Solar energy - electricity and heating from the sun Product: Concentrated solar energy – Solar collectors and energy systems that generate industrial heat, steam, cooling, electricity and heating. Areas of use: The solar concentrators are suitable for large buildings, industrial users and companies that have large energy needs all year round. Absolicon offers three models and each installation is customised for the customer's specific energy needs. Wide experience in delivering turnkey solar energy systems that generate the energy that the purchaser needs, now and in the future. Characteristics: Absolicon's solar concentrators concentrate sunlight, a technique that offers many unique benefits. High energy supply, high environmental profile, lower environmental impact in life cycle analyses (LCA). Offers heating, industrial heat and steam in a single system, manages higher temperatures. Cheap installation, low risk of overheating, wind proof design and energy security for the future. Calejo Product area: Calejo Future Intelligence provides forecasts, future studies and conferences for international companies as a support and for their making better strategic future and investment decisions. Material: The core is a unique in-house developed forecast model, which builds on artificial neural networks (ANN). Areas of use: Helps its clients to predict precisely future trends within a number of selected information areas that are important in the process of strategic decisions. Environmental characteristics: Reduces resources and environmental impact by permitting manufacturing and processing industries to plan better and create improved forecasts of future developments and decision bases for investment. About the product/service: Calejo Business Intelligence was founded in May 2009. In December 2009 the company was nominated by Vinnova and the Swedish Energy Authority as a VINN NU (WINNER) company and during 2010 Calejo was also given an award in Venture Cup's business plan competition. ChemseQ Product area: Efficient solutions within processing chemistry for refining and handling metals. ChemseQ recovers metals and additives from process water using a physical cleaning process. Materials: A foam of soap bubbles are used in the cleaning process for metals to catch metal residues. Areas of use: Efficient process solutions within processing chemistry for handling metal problems within different areas. For example: Minimising copper discharges from production of whisky. Manganese deposits from mechanical masses within peroxide bleaching. Reduction of heavy metals in the leachate from municipal landfills. Recovery of rare metals in surface treatment processes. Properties: Recovery of harmful, hazardous and valuable metals from solid waste material or process water. ChemseQ's method removes metals and recovers them while cleaned water and solid materials can be recycled and refined. This allows the creation of new business opportunities based on the existing material flow. About the product/service: ChemseQ's concept builds on separable complexing agents that are recovered using foam flotation or deposit, which can subsequently be regenerated and recycled. This generic technique allows you to remove and store harmful, hazardous and valuable metals from solid waste or process water.
