Client Photo ShootSHOTLIST
ART DIRECTION:
A literal human focus achieved through simple compositions and contrasting the color/saturation of the people in the shots against a soft focus, high-key background/foreground.
HAIR, WARDROBE & MAKEUP:
To preserve the sense of authenticity, subjects should not be overstyled or too polished. They should look professional, but only to the degree that they look professional every day in their jobs. Some slightly rumpled clothing, cluttered desks, or imperfect hairstyling is actually desirable.
POSES:
We want to capture authentic, unposed moments. As such, subjects should be looking at each other, not the camera, and they should be engaged in activity: conversation, walking, gesturing, etc. In every case, we’re in search of a more documentary feel with different angles/perspectives/distances.
TALENT REQUIREMENTS:
Day one (Hospital setting) – 5 total actors + 4 CHG employees
3 individuals to portray C-suite/VP clients (two of these should be men in their 50s, the third should be a woman of similar age—one of the three actors should have some degree of ethnic diversity)
2 individuals to portray client-side recruiters. These people should be younger—likely 30s/40s, one male and one female
4 members of our Corporate Business Development or National Accounts teams for collaborative shots
Day two (CHG headquarters) – 1 total actors + 5 CHG employees
1 of the actors from day one to continue their role as C-suite/VP client
5 members of our Corporate Business Development or National Accounts teams for collaborative shots and three portraits
Casting notes: since we will be shooting “scenarios” in more of a documentary style than typically composed static shots, we’ll cast actors rather than models. During the casting process, we’ll have the actors run through a couple of these scenarios—and have our CHG actors run through one of these scenarios as well to gauge their comfort in front of the camera.
LOCATIONS:
CHG headquarters (Salt Lake City) – conference rooms, hallways/shared space, whiteboard rooms, executive waiting room, studio for portraits.
Client facility (location TBD) – hospital/clinic (or simulated hospital/clinic) with offices and open walking spaces. Ideally (but not critically) one that can also be photographed from the outside to establish it as a rural locale.
GENERAL NARRATIVE FOCUS:
Our imagery should be telling stories of partnership with our clients. This can take many shapes: a hallway conversation in a medical facility, a visit to a rural hospital, the experts-working-with-experts interactions between our recruiters and theirs. In every case, the personality traits of human, smart, and lively should be present.
