To address the need for more efficient PCI DSS compliance, Web AR uses the Paymetric XiSecure® service to tokenize the raw card data and XiIntercept™ to prevent the data from entering the company’s back-end systems. Taken together, these steps significantly reduce the scope of a PCI audit.

Retailers can now sign into their accounts on the Vera Bradley website using an iPad or desktop at their convenience, review open invoices, select which invoices to pay, and decide how much of each invoice they will pay. If they choose to call in their payments, a Vera Bradley associate logs into SAP and completes the same process.

The more retailers use the online self-pay system, the less Vera Bradley will have to spend on collection, including staff time and invoice printing and mailing costs. So far, more than 1,500 retailers are on board, exceeding the adoption goal of 40 percent.

CNBS also leveraged Paymetric services to provide an automated AR process, which Vera Bradley utilizes for select customers. On the 10th of the month, Auto AR automatically applies charges to these customers’ credit cards for any open and due invoices. The Vera Bradley Team stated, “Previously, we had an accounts receivables person spending hours a month doing those transactions one at a time outside SAP then going and doing the process inside SAP."

Convenience catches onVera Bradley also wants to use the Paymetric services to streamline online order placement on the company’s B2C eCommerce site. As with the B2B applications, XiPay and XiSecure will automate and secure the payments consumers make when they place orders on verabradley.com. This time, XiIntercept for eCommerce will prevent the much higher volumes of raw card data from reaching Vera Bradley’s eCommerce server.

The Vera Bradley Spokesperson reflects on how far the team has come. “The automation of our monthly processing of credit card payments has been a huge time savings, as has the ability to streamline the processing of orders via customer service.
