Definition A steep, high rock face, especially one that runs along the seashore and has the layers of strata exposed.

Facts Cliffs are formed as erosion landforms they are common on coasts, mountains, and rivers, cliffs are usually formed by rocks. Sedimentary rocks most likely form cliffs included sandstone, limestone, chalk, igneous, granite, and basalt often form cliffs.
