Behind the Shield: Safety First in Our Communities

Rev. Samuel Feemster

Our country has seen far too much violence; some of which came at the hands of those who are charged with community safety. Law enforcement

has come to be seen as an activity that defends the law. A better perspective

of the work of police and first responders is to provide safety, which is a

function of community health and wellness. Come explore how you and

your community can build relationships that provide pathways to peace.

Protecting Christians from the Fiery Darts

Panel: Dr. Saw Ler Htoo, Dr. Duh Kam, Rev. Emmanuel Mutangana,

Rev. Rollin Van Bik, and moderator, Rev. Dr. Robert Cochran

Come and hear the experience of those God has led through the challenges of

persecution and discover how you can support those facing such trials. Lis-

ten to the testimonies of those who have been persecuted and learn how it has

changed their lives and walk with Christ.

Michelle Rhett, Esq.

As the body of Christ, we must be equipped with the necessary knowledge

so that we can fulfill the mission set before us. In this session, Attorney

Rhett will cover existing litigation against churches, the Supreme Court’s

same sex marriage decision, pastoral misconduct, and church disputes

and infrastructure matters...such as the Jericho City of Praise decision.

Shoes Required: Walking out the Gospel of Peace

Rev. Starlette McNeill

Today, the concern is not just over what we say but where we step and how we

enter. The Body of Christ’s feet are being closely watched and

scrutinized. What’s the Church’s position on this? Where do you stand? In

this session, participants will explain, evaluate and explore the gospel of peace

for practical application. All shoe sizes are welcome.

Our Best Foot Forward: Finding the Path to Reconciliation

Rev. Breon Wells

“Everyone knows that Washington, D. C. is a city of secrets. There are secrets

in the White House, the Capitol, and the Supreme Court. There are secret

files in the Pentagon, the FBI, CIA, NSA, and a veritable alphabet soup of

federal agencies. Yet, the greatest secrets in the nation’s capital are not

locked in a vault or under 24-hour guard. Washington’s greatest secrets are

hidden in plain sight. They are the secrets of Ancient Egypt and of its influ-

ence on the development of the United States and its capital city.”

“America’s founding fathers were profoundly influenced by the Ancient

Egyptians. Egypt is on the Potomac, but you will never know it if you do not

know what to look for.”

It is hoped that these words by Egyptologist Anthony Browder will entice

you to join us at the 138th Annual Gathering and hear just how he will

decode for us the symbolism in D.C. found in the buildings and their

surroundings. You will be fascinated to learn the role that the 16th Street

corridor plays in our connection to Egypt.

Scripture tells us that we perish because of a lack of knowledge, and that we

are to arm ourselves by putting on the full armor of God in order to fight

against the devil. As we stand with the Belt of Truth, we will come to

understand the origin and significance of many familiar D.C. places and sites

and understand the Egyptian influence.

Join the Older Adult Ministries and be transported back in time as the hidden

secrets of Washington, D. C. and its relationship to Ancient Egypt are

revealed at our Annual Gathering 2015.

Anthony T. Browder is an author, publisher, cultural historian, artist

and an educational consultant. He has lectured extensively through-

out the United States, Mexico, Africa, Japan, and Europe, on topics pertaining to African and African American History and Culture.

Mr. Browder is the founder and director of the Institute of Karmic

Guidance, a culturally oriented organization which is dedicated to the

dissemination of “ancient Egyptian history and metaphysics.” Mr.

Browder holds fast to the beliefs that ancient Africans wee the archi-

tects of civilization and that they developed the rudiments of what has

become the scientific, religious, and philosophical backbone of man-

kind. It is from this framework that IKG has concentrated its research.

and disseminated its findings.

Chaplain Barry Black is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and an alum-nus of Oakwood College, Andrews University, North Carolina Central

University, Eastern Baptist Seminary, Salve Regina University, and

United States International University. In addition to earning Master of

Arts degrees in Divinity, Counseling, and Management, he has received a

Doctorate degree in Ministry and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology.

Chaplain Black has been selected for many outstanding achievements.

Of particular note, he was chosen from 127 nominees for the 1995

NAACP Renowned Service Award for his contribution to equal opportunity and civil rights. He also received the 2002 Benjamin Elijah

Mays Distinguished Leadership Award from The Morehouse School of

Religion. In 2004, the Old Dominion University chapter of the NAACP

conferred on him the Image Award, "Reaffirming the Dream -- Realizing

the Vision" for military excellence.
