    Dear parents,

The Grade 6 Honour Band has been working very hard over the past month inpreparation for their participation in the Red Deer Kiwanis Festival during the week ofApril 23rd 27th. The Honour Band performs on Monday, April 23rd on the mainstage at Red Deer College. They perform at 11:30am.

As mentioned in the original Honour Band package, this years Grade 6 Honour Bandhas the opportunity to participate in Clinics on Campus at Red Deer College onTuesday, April 17th. An itinerary and permission form for the day is included with thisletter. The fee for the activity is $70. This includes transportation on charter bus, professional clinicians and a guest conductor, snacks as well as pizza and pop forsupper. It also covers the entrance fees for the activities at the Collicutt Centre.

Any band workshop is a fabulous opportunity for the students to receive specializedinstruction on their instruments. It is also a wonderful opportunity for team building.

This is why we will end the day with a fun activity.

Money and forms must be returned to the Pioneer School office by Thursday, April5th. Cheques should be made payable to Pioneer School and Interac is available.

It is imperative that all group members participate to make it a positive and productiveactivity for everyone. If there are any issues with the fee, please let me knowand I will work to help ensure that all members can participate.

Parents are welcome to fill any empty seats on the bus and come along to watch.Indicate your interest on the permission form and I will email if seats are available.

Band Parents Association and our school pizza sales have made substantial donationsto this project to keep the cost down for our students. Please feel free to contact me atPioneer School if you have any questions!
