Every air system is unique... and Clippard has the air valve you need. Clippard control valves are available inpoppet or spool design; 2-, 3-, or 4-way functions, in sizes from #3-56 and #10-32 through 1/8” NPT ports; andfor pressures to 300 psig. They are available with solenoid, air pilot, manual and mechanical actuators.Mounting styles include inline, panel mount, manifold mount or clearance holes for mounting screws.

When designing a pneumatic system, choose the proper size for each component. A valve of insufficientcapacity may cause an entire system to operate slower than expected. Conversely, utilizing a valve which pos-sesses greater capacity than is actually required results in needless size and often leads to excessive speed,impact, wear, and air consumption.

Brass Valves2-Way, 3-Way & 4-Way

Clippard Minimatic miniature valves and associat-ed products have evolved into a widely used sys-tem of fluid power control devices known for qual-ity, value and performance.

Clippard brass valves are available in poppet orspool design, 2-, 3- or 4-way function, in sizes #3-56, #10-32, 1/8” NPT and metric ports. They areavailable with solenoid, air pilot, manual andmechanical actuators. Mounting styles include in-line, panel mount, manifold mount or clearanceholes for mounting screws.

Sleeve Valves

Clippard J-Series sleeve valveswith 1/8” NPT and 1/4” NPT

ports offer large flow capability with a relativelyshort stroke in 2-way and 3-way valves, and nocross-over between inlet and exhaust on the 3-waymodels. Rugged and compact in size, the J-Seriessleeve valves are constructed of corrosion resistantmaterials. The main body is electro-less nickel plated brass andthe sleeve is anodized alu-minum.

Pressure Actuated Switches

Clippard air actuated electrical switches enable the easyuse of pressure to remotely pilot electrical switches.

The pressure actuator has a spring biased piston with a U-cup seal that requires pressure as low as 5 psig to actuateeither a sub-miniature or miniature electrical switch. Thepressure activated switch may be supplied in four differentpressure ranges. To actuate the electric switch, the pres-sure must meet or exceed the actuation pressure. To deac-tuate the switch, the pressure must be at or lower than thedeactuation pressure.

The electrical switch is available in both sub-miniature(SAS models) and miniature (MAS models) sizes, with avariety of current ratings and terminal styles.

Clippard’s block flow control valves have avariety of features that offer extra versatility forunique applications. These precision made

valves offer high performance, low cost, reliabil-ity and ease of installation. Each valve isindependent of the other (except the BFC-

2C), sharing only a common body. This allowsseparate pressures and/or gases to be used while simplifyingmounting. Each needle adjustment is smooth, exact, andincludes a locking ring to prevent tampering. The valvebody is machined and anodized aluminum; the compoundangle needle stems are machined from 303 stainless steel;the valve sleeve is electroless nickel plated brass; and theseals are Buna-N rubber. Block flow controls are ideal forcontrolling double acting cylinders.

Heavy DutyPush ButtonActuators canbe used onindividual stemoperated valvesor in panelmounting applications. These push buttons are avail-able in a variety of colors, allowing you to colorcode, or easily differentiate between valves whendesigning control systems. Clippard is pleased to add the EVP series proportionalcontrol valve to our Electronic Valve product line. Thisproduct combines the features of the existing EV seriesvalve—long life, low power, and Clippard’s reputation forhigh quality components—with the additional capabilityof proportional control.

The EVP series valve provides air or gas flow control, andvaries the output flow based on the current input to thesolenoid. The consistent gain (see graph) of this valveprovides a high degree of control for many applications.

Controllability and overall value are the main features ofthe EVP Proportional Valve series. The valve may be con-trolled using DC current, open- or closed-loop control,and even PWM (pulse width modulation) to cover a broadrange of applications.

Like a mouse, this valve is quiet, quick, eats very little(0.67 watts) and is cute. Valves accept low voltage,low current signals, convert them into high pressure(100 psig) pneumatic outputs. Optional low pres-sure/medium flow and low pressure/high flow areavailable. (The air supply should be reasonably cleanand dry for optimum performance. Recommended fil-tration is 40 micron.)

Many valving systems require a considerableamount of piping, tubing and fittings to cre-ate the necessary circuitry. The piping orig-inates beneath the valve and often needsextra space and clearance to complete.The acrylic circuit board provides a place tomount the components and easy methods tohook-up the circuit, generally on the top side of the cir-cuit board. For a single circuit the original assemblymethod can be the best direction to take... but where anumber of identical circuits are prepared, the acrylic cir-cuit board technology offers a series of distinct advan-tages.
