Did You Know?
Kathy Rios
Kathy works at the Coastal Bend
Food Bank where she is the Agency
Relations Manager. Her position
consists of establishing and
monitoring new pantries, mobile
pantries, backpack programs in the
schools and Kids Café to help feed
hungry children in the Coastal Bend
& managing a team of 3 employees.
She gets to see daily what
community service is all about &
knows what she does each and
every day impacts someone’s life in
a positive way.
Besides Family, Faith, plants and
animals; Kathy loves working with
teenagers & serving her community.
For 22 years she was the Director of
Youth Ministries at Grace United
Methodist Church in the Calallen /
Annaville area of Corpus Christi.
Mission and Service work were the
foundation of the program at
GUMC, including many trips to
Mexico to build homes for families
literally living on the streets.
Servanthood touches your heart in a
special way and becomes a way of
life. Rotary fits this lifestyle
perfectly.

Being a Rotarian has educated her
in community issues and has
provided another avenue for
community service. This group in
the downtown club is totally
friendly and welcoming. You
WANT to come to the weekly
gatherings.
Unknown fact: Kathy is a licensed
minister in the state of Texas and
officiates weddings on a regular
basis. She has officiated in a
backyard, on the beach, at a lodge,
at the Art Center and Botanical
Gardens, etc. “I do….. Weddings!”
is the name of her business.
Favorite quote: “Do all the good
you can. By all the means you can.
In all the ways you can. In all the
places you can. To all the people
you can. As long as ever you can.”
