Objects of the Club To promote ownership and appreciation of American motor vehicles.

To promote and provide owners and admirers with car shows, car rally’s and social events.

Hi Members.

Hope you can all make it to our next meeting which will be followed by our

AGM. At the AGM you will have the opportunity to have your say in the

future of the club by nominating for a committee position. All positions will

be available so have a think about which one you want.

Some of the clubs have been having a look at participation requirements

and have been amending their policy in regards to SIV registration. One club

I know of now requires new members requesting SIV rego to take out a

minimum 3 year membership or pay $100-00 on top of the single year

membership. Existing members still receive SIV rego forms at no charge,

although if they have not been members for 3 years they need to top up

their membership to this level. Our club has the same situation with some

new members who we very rarely see and who do not participate in club

events. Do you think we need to follow this approach?

Christmas is fast approaching and at this month’s meeting we need to

discuss what we will do for a Christmas party.

Some of our members have been active in the hobby and I have heard that

Dan has deconstructed the Mustang and is now concentrating on the body

work and had his dad doing his magic with the lead wiping. Rodney has

been busy with his new toy and hopefully the 72 Duster is not far from

being on the road. Both Eddie and Aaron have been doing some work on

Richard Teeling’s 57 Chev pickup. Eddie has been sorting out the Chev 350

which is going in and Aaron has been sorting out mounting the motor and

gearbox after the 326 Pontiac came out. Also heard that John Springett has

the Mustang he has been after and he should be on the road soon. Plenty of

others have been active as well participating in the events which have been

on nearly every weekend in the past month. In the past month there has

been the show at Innisfail, Cars & Coffee Cairns, the Innot Hot Springs show

and our club run the Speewah last Saturday night.

It was good to catch up with new members Mark and Sue Strange at Cars &

Coffee and check out their 75 Caddy. Mark’s dad purchased it new after it

was converted to RHD in NZ.

See you at the meeting on 25th September and safe Crusin. Bruce

Giggling Gertie’s Gut-busting Jokes! ******************************************************

At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside and asked,

"Do you understand what co-operation is? What a team is?"

"Yes, coach", replied the little boy. "

“Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative.

"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse, attack the umpire, or call him an arsehole. Do you understand all that?"

Again, the little boy nodded in the affirmative. The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play, it's not a dumb-arse decision or that the

coach is a shithead is it?"

"No, coach."

"Good", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother.

I was sitting at the computer the other day, drafting my will, and I called out to my wife,

"WHEN I DIE, I'M GOING TO LEAVE EVERYTHING TO YOU, MY LOVE!"

She shouted back,

"YOU ALREADY DO, YOU LAZY BASTARD!"

A bit of financial planning advice.

Fred was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed

to find a wife with whom to share his fortune.

One evening, at an investment meeting, he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away.

"I may look like just an ordinary guy," he said to her, "but in just a few years, my father will die and I will inherit over $200 million dollars."

Impressed, the woman asked for his business card.

...Three months later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much better at financial planning than men.
