CMA CNC-Controlled Drilling Centre Model TRD-CNC Rapid Drill
The CMA TRD-CNC Rapid Drilling Centres are the latest development of the very succesful CMA Coordinate Drilling Machines in NC-execution. The machines are equipped with the latest generation OMROM (Japan) industrial PC-Controls, Servo-drives and Servo-motors. What does a CNC Rapid driling centre have to offer in daily practice? - To drill a hoe in the right position, fast and simple (a hole in th wrong position causes issues
and high costs for re-working the job - Be able to do do single parts (1 or 2 holes in a product) or do small and big series - It has to offer you the possibility to work with conventional HSS tooling but also modern
carbide tooling to speed up the process - It has to be able to do multiple small parts but also big parts just as easily - It has to be able to drill, tap, countersink, flow-drill - It has to do drilling but also light milling like for instance milling oblong holes in a beam in
order to not to not have to clamp the part in another milling machine, or to “clean“ a surface
Special features of the TRD Rapid Drilling Centres: - Simple, intuitive graphical control including a “go-to“ funktion in manual mode - Free programming in DIN/ISO, (G-codes) for instance to program milling, helical threading,
the application of special tooling z.B. Heule deburring tool - 3-Axis interpolation - High-speed movements: X-axise = 30 m/min., Y-axis = 25 m/min.

OMRON control Dialogue & DIN/ISO Programming, the best of both worlds !
In many aspects, the control is the heart of the machine. It has to have a combination of precision and reliability and has to provide an ease of working.
Programming Ease of working means more than offering multiple possibilities. The whole range of machine capabilities should be easy to program completely on the control. The operator should not be bothered by hundreds of possibilities that he doesn’t need for the job or that he has to enter because of un-needed routine entrees that don’t play any roll in the later execution of the program. The control should only offer the possibilities, and only ask for data, that are required to program the job. In short: “As much as needed, but as little as possible“ To realise that, the programming software that lies behind the interface should be open. This offers the manufacturer of these machines, CMA, the option to configure the control software to create an optimal fit for the operator. Based on the operator’s suggestions the software can be optimized. For instance, to add specific jobs, improve graphical items, reduce the data to be entered etc.
The OMRON control offers these possibilities. Therefore, OMRON is not only the right system for CMA, but also for you the optimal choice. Dialog programming for coordinate and standard work-cycles Simply enter the required data and save it under a logical name. The complete work cycle of the part (or different parts that are clamped on the machine simultaneously) are entered in a sequence list and stored. The programmed parts can be worked in a serie of parts at once or, for instance, be worked in a “pendle-mode”. Load-unload on one side while working the other side.
Page 7 of 19 Price List: January 2015
Programming: Dialogue programming of coordinates and standard working cycles Simply enter the data in the macro and save under a (logical) name. The complete job (even several different work pieces clamped simultaneously) can be programmed in a sequence. The operator can choose to produce all parts in 1 run or work in 2 areas (loading new parts while machine is producing in the other area).

Free programming in DIN/ISO (G-Code) at the machine:
Free programming in ISO (G-codes) at the machine: Standard cycles like drilling, tapping, countersinking, flowdrilling, circular and oblong milling are programmable through macros. Cycles which are not included in the macros can be programmed in ISO (G-codes). In ISO it’s possible to program complex shapes with interpolated X/Y-movements. The system offers 3-axis (X/Y/Z) interpolation for helical milling and Thread-milling.

Offline Programming Drillcam Package (Vandenbussche) The Drillcam Package is an ideal solution for programming more complex parts. Besides converting DXF, DWG, DSTV data, the CAM3000 software offers a drawing packages A special feature of the software is the possibility to increased automation and optimisation by means of smart macro‘s. - Programmed items like material, thickness and hole diameter are automatically recognized
at future, similar jobs. This means that in those cases no additional programming is required - Surface heights of claming systems are already known. Just enter where you want to place
the part: on the table, at the base of the vice of at the recessed pockets of the top of the vice. Enter the approach feed-rate an work feed-rate and the Z-axis movement is automatically set.
- A variation of holes: blck hole, through hole, tapped hole, countersunk hole, through and through hole are automaticall recognized by their specific color and the right tooling is automatically being programmed as well (one tool or a combination of tools) plus the positions as well as the Z-axis values are automatically being programmed.
- Multiple (different or identical) parts can simply be allocated to already defined zero-points or clampingsystems. The whole cycle is then automatically being programmed
See here how the Drillcam software works: Also see here the same software but with ISO correction option:
