11TH ANNUAL

WINTER HIP & KNEE COURSEVAIL MARRIOTT | VAIL, CO | JANUARY 17 – 20, 2019

Dear Colleague,

Make plans to join us for the 11th Annual Winter Hip & Knee Course, the premier Winter meeting focused on hip and knee arthroplasty, taking place January 17-20, 2019, at the Vail Marriott Mountain Hotel in Vail, Colorado.

During this four-day meeting, our esteemed faculty will provide insightful commentary on a variety of topics in primary and revision total hip and total knee replacement, as well as critical issues in practice management, through case-based panel discussions, didactic presentations, and video vignettes. There will be a strong emphasis on sharing the lessons learned from years of surgical experience in sessions such as:

• Recipes from My TKA Cookbook

• Why My TKA Failed

• TKA Bag of Tricks: Learning from the Masters

• The Scary Hip: How to Handle the Difficult Primary THA

• Revision THA: A Case Review

Our faculty will also take a close look at the evidence behind some of the latest technology intended to help improve patient outcomes, explore the role of enhanced recovery protocols in outpatient and short-stay arthroplasty, and address the management of complications leading to revision procedures.

We introduced sessions geared toward the physician assistant’s role in hip and knee replacement at the 2018 meeting, and they were so popular that we’re including them again this year. Some of the topics for physician assistants will include:

• Patient optimization

• Wound closure

• DVT prophylaxis

We look forward to seeing you in Vail! Register now to secure your place at this always-popular meeting!

SESSIONS FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS!

Join us in Vail for sessions designed for physician

assistants, with lectures and workshops that provide

in-depth knowledge and updates on a broad range

of orthopaedic topics. The PA sessions will offer

opportunities to network with colleagues, gain new

insights into the latest orthopaedic trends, and

hands-on training in a dedicated PA Bioskills Lab.

• Perioperative management of the joint replacement patient — overview

• Live templating for a total hip replacement — How the experts perform it

• The economics of being a Physician Assistant

• Case-based interactive discussions

• Bioskills Lab: Perform the procedure (THA and TKA)

Learn the procedures, step-by-step, and perform

multiple approaches, positioning, incision, retractor

placement, releases, intra-operative c-arm imaging

and interpretation, peri-articular injections, wound

closure, and more.

“LOVED the PA breakout sessions. They should be incorporated into every meeting.

Very helpful and relevant!”
