Principal’s Report
We were pleased this week to induct our first Yr 2 sports captains. With the change to the way we are working with our School
Houses, students and staff thought it appropriate to encourage leadership development in the younger students by offering them
the chance to take on the role of a sports captain. We look forward to working with them and seeing their development as leaders.
As everyone is aware due to a drop in our student numbers, earlier in the year we were forced to collapse one of our year 3 clas-
ses. This resulted in our year 3 and 4 classes being larger than we would like. Since that time we have also taken in 8 new year 3
or 4 enrolments and this has placed even more pressure on these class sizes. This has been at the same time as we have lost stu-
dents in years 5 and 6, particularly from 5/6B, which is now at only 19 students.
Due to the imbalance in these class sizes, in order to provide the best opportunities for all students, we will be re-structuring 5/6M,
5/6B, 3/4S and 3/4C. At this time, Mrs Manns and I are working through a number of options for the re-structure and we hope to
have a final structure organised by the end of this week, with a possible implementation beginning Week 3.
We anticipate that a minority of students in these classes will be affected by the re-structure. We will communicate with all
parents of students in these classes about the re-structure and will be available to discuss individual students who will need to
change classes.
We understand that a change at this point of the year can be difficult, however for the reasons outlined above it is necessary and
will ultimately lead to smaller class sizes for students in these classes.
As previously mentioned we had a tree near the staff car park which required remediation. This was completed on Wednesday
morning and staff are again able to access the car park. A big thank you to Troy and our friends at Coate’s Hire for providing us
with the barricades we have been using; thank you.
Parent meetings are being held again next Wednesday and Thursday, going through the school plan and looking at current data.
These will run as usual 3.30-4.30 and will be in the staffroom.

Ernie was super proud to see
Jackson walking safely around
the school. Ernie has noticed
that Jackson walks sensibly
along the correct paths and
always wears his hat outdoors!
Hammam Nahantchi has been spotted by Ernie
this week for always being a respectful student
both in the classroom and in the playground.
Hammam always does as he is asked, and
follows instructions during Learning Centres.
He kindly shares equipment with others during
activities. Ernie also noticed Hammam lining up
quickly and quietly at the end of playtime.
Well done Hammam! Ernie is super proud of you!
Doug has been spotted by Ernie being on task
and always ready for learning. He always
strives hard and works to the best of his
ability. Doug has also been seen helping those
around him when they are having trouble with
