These videos typically include photos from the week, providing a window into the children’s world. Occasionally we share a video produced elsewhere that helps explain Montessori or our mission. The Cobb Tales our weekly newsletter This week at The Cobb School I told a story last night at the Elementary meeting that I’d like to share with all of you. As I sat in each class this week, observing your children at work, I was struck by how quickly our new and returning children have settled in. At one moment, as I walked the halls observing through the windows, I was amused by a stued monkey popping out of a backpack and staring in with me. I wondered if he was as delighted as I was to watch the children buzz about. Yesterday I had the pleasure of eating lunch with the Nest children. I introduced myself and they introduced themselves. I said I lived in Simsbury and they shared their hometown, until one said, “I live in North America!” One after the other said, “I’m four,” and held up four small fingers, until one said, “I’m 52!” We continued with our conversation over lunch, and I was again reminded of our mission. If we believe in the child, if we treat each child with dignity and respect, if we provide each child with a safe environment -- not just physically but emotionally safe -- we are changing the world. Seeing this love in action continues to fill my soul. This week at The Cobb SchoolI told a story last night at the Elementary meeting that I’d like to share with all of you.

As I sat in each class this week, observing your children at work, I was struck by how quickly our new and returning children have settled in. At one moment, as I walked the halls observing through the windows, I was amused by a stuffed monkey popping out of a backpack and staring in with me.

All my best, Mary Lou Cobb
