COBIT®5 is the overarching business framework for the governance and management of enterprise Information Technology (IT). It is a comprehensive framework of globally accepted practices that helps enterprise leaders create optimal value from IT by maintaining balance amongst benefits and optimising risk levels and resource use. COBIT®5 provides the structure and tools needed to deliver trust and value, manage risk, avoid potential embarrassment and maximize opportunities.
Introduction
The COBIT®5 Business Framework for the Governance and Management of Enterprise IT Foundation Course introduces the candidate to the five basic principles which are covered in detail and includes extensive guidance on enablers for governance and management of enterprise IT. Also included is a supplementary guide outlining the foundation concepts of a Process Assessment Model (PAM) based on the ISO 15504 approach which replaced the previous Capability Maturity Model (CMM).
Course Description
The purpose of the COBIT®5 Foundation Certificate is to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the COBIT®5 guidance to be able to understand the enterprise Governance and Management of Enterprise IT, create awareness with their business executives and senior IT Management; assess the current state of their Enterprise IT with the objective of scooping what aspects of COBIT®5 would be appropriate to implement.
The Foundation level training and certificate is a pre-requisite for the following training and certificate courses: COBIT®5 Implementation Certificate COBIT®5 Assessor Certificate
Course Objectives
To know the facts, terms, concepts and principles including tools, techniques, roles and responsibilities from the COBIT®5 Framework Guidance and the COBIT®5 Process Assessment Model (PAM). Understand the concepts, principles, processes, features, organisational factors and roles and explain how these are applied to justify design and implement the COBIT®5 Framework Guidance and the COBIT®5 Process Assessment Model (PAM). Delegates obtain a certificate of attendance from EGIT for attending the full duration of the training and the COBIT®5 Certificate from APMG as ISACA for the passing of the examination.

They are acknowledged COBIT®5 subject matter experts (SMEs), and possess the following qualifications/designations: CIAs, CRMAs, CISAs, CISMs, CGEITs, CRISCs, CISSPs, and MBAs. Some have participated in various COBIT®5 development workshops and are constantly involved in the development of numerous white papers in the governance, assurance, risk and security of emerging technologies such as Mobility, Social Media, Cybersecurity, Bring Your Own Device, Cloud Computing and Big Data.

There is no pre-course work, reading, training or qualification required for the COBIT®5 Foundation Training Course and Exam.
