Science Technology Engineering Art Math

S.T.E.A.M.STEAM represents STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) plus ARTS (humanities, language arts, dance, drama, music, visual arts, design). STEAM is important because it extends into every part of our lives. Science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Engineering is the design of roads and bridges but also tackles the challenges of changing global weather and environmentally-friendly changes to our home. Mathematics is in every occupation, every activity we do in our lives. Children who study STEAM also develop a variety of skills that are essential for success: critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship, to name a few.

YMCA Northumberland is committed to STEAM-focused learning in a fun and interactive environment in our child & youth activities.
