physically, psychologically, socially, spiritually, and economically.
• The fulfillment of one’s role expectation “in the family, community, place of worship, workplace, and other settings”

• BALANCE
Social• Establish and maintain
healthy and positive relationships in your life
• Avoid and let go of the negative relationships that bring unnecessary stress into your life
• Create a positive support system at work and at home
Healthy Workplace• 12 hour days can take a toll
• Take time to debrief after a traumatic event
• Encourage colleagues to talk to someone if they are having a difficult day
• Be aware of compassion fatigue and burnout in yourself and coworkers
Spiritual• This is unique and personal to each individual
• Often it involves the “why” of our lives
• We connect to the things that bring peace in our lives
• Take quiet time each day to reflect and recharge
Family Relationships• Make time for each other
• Keep communication open
• Eat one meal together each day
• Set goals together
• Schedule family time
Physical• Exercise regularly – experts suggest 150 minutes a week
• Get plenty of sleep
• Eat healthy – pack your own snacks and stay away from the vending machines
• Avoid negative health behavior such as alcohol and cigarettes
Psychological• Have a positive attitude and thinking
• Learn how to reduce and cope with stress
Economic• Think about your financial attitude, behavior, and
knowledge
• Assess the financial aspects of your life
• Set short and long term financial goals
Community Involvement• Become involved in outreach programs such as fall
prevention or hand hygiene
• Find a program specific to an issue in your community so you feel you are providing a service
