PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
PET SHOW & FASHIONS
Many thanks to all those who took part in our ‘Pet Show’ and our ‘Fashions Off The Field’ on Tuesday.
It was great to see so many make an effort to join in the spirit of the day. We realise this takes a bit of effort
at home but we also know how much the students enjoy being involved. Thank you to Robyn Parker
(William & Thomas’ Nan) for helping out as our judge and to our parent group for providing such a yummy
lunch. A double page of photos is attached to the Newsletter today.
A big thank you to Gaye Saunders for co-ordinating the day and to Steve Christensen for doing the MC
work. We feel he has a career as a Game Show host coming up.

GRADE 4/5/6 BIKE HIKE
Last week our Grade 4/5/6 students completed their Bike Hike
from Tallarook to Yea along the Great Victorian Rail Trail, a total
of almost 60km by the time we finished. As well as making some
new friends from Yea Primary School, it was a great chance for our
students to discover just what they are capable of. All of the
students can be very proud of their efforts and achievements. Their
achievements made all of the adults involved very proud.
I would like to pass on my thanks to our support crew and support
riders who were just sensational. It was one of the most satisfying
and enjoyable camps I have ever attended.
A big thank you to:-
Parents – Dave & Julie Liersch, Garry Van Wynen, Sharon
Hipwell and Fran Shaw
Community helpers – Laurie Mueck (Axedale Police Sargeant) &
Peter Djajic
Bendigo/Kilmore Rail Trail members – Garry Long, Lawrie and
Judy Edward and Lindsay Clay
Staff – Steve Christensen and Ricky Cawley

2015 PLANNING
BRICK BUILDING UPDATE
Commercial works on the brick building will be completed within the
next week. Supporting framework and a door has been installed into
the back wall, the internal wall has been re-plastered, new downpipes
fitted, and roof repairs made. Next week, the tank stand will be
removed and a step to the entrance installed.
School Council is planning to have this room as our fourth classroom
in 2015. Quite a bit of work will need to be completed inside to have
this room ready for 2015. This work may need the input of families
over a number of Working Bees. Please keep an eye out for further
details.
STAFFING
We are anticipating having four
classrooms in 2015.
We are in the process of
advertising for further staff and
will be shortlisting and conducting
interviews over the coming weeks.
GRADE STRUCTURES AND ROOM ALLOCATIONS
Once staff have been appointed and confirmed, I will be in a position
to begin finalising grade structures and room allocations for 2015.
While I hope to be able to announce this as soon as possible, many
factors that contribute to these decisions may still be up in the air until
the last weeks of school
BOOKLISTS
It is anticipated that 2015 booklist
for all grades will be distributed on
Thursday 27th
November.
These can be collected on Tuesday
27th
January 2015 9am-1pm
PARENTS, VOLUNTEERS AND FUNDRAISING
Our last fundraiser for the year will be the Christmas Raffle. Families are asked to contribute a non-
perishable item to our Christmas Hampers.
Tickets will be sent home on November 27th
with the Newsletter.
ACTIVE AFTER SCHOOL
There will be no Active After School next Wednesday as the teachers will travelling to Lockwood Primary
School for a Bendigo Rural Schools Writing Professional Development session immediately after school.
SCHOOL LUNCHES
A reminder to parents that students are asked not to bring lunches to school that require warming up or
adding boiling water. This is very dangerous and we are concerned that students may burn themselves.
BOOK FAIR
Due to the success of our Book Fair earlier this year we have been given the opportunity to hold another
Book Fair week as a thank you. During this week all books will be available at a special offer of buy one
book and receive another one to the same value FREE.
We will be holding this bonus Book Fair during the week Monday 24th
November through until Friday 28th
November. This will be an excellent opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents.

PREP/1 PICNIC
Today the Prep/1 students joined
the Kinder children in the park for
a picnic and decorated hat parade,
as part of our Cup Week
celebrations. We had a wonderful
time catching up with our friends
and looking at all the creative hat
designs.
GRADE 2/3 MINI-BEAST PROJECTS
The Grade 2/3 students have been working on their projects
about mini-beasts. The project is due to be completed by the end of November. As part of their project,
students will be making a model of their chosen mini beast. Students can use any material they want to
produce a realistic model. This will be a part of the student’s homework for the term. Students are asked to
complete all work on their model at home. The school has some materials available such as cardboard boxes
and pipe cleaners, which can be used if needed. If you are having trouble getting materials please come and
