2020 Summer Internships

Coldstream Country Club is looking for eager and passionate turfgrass interns and turf

graduates for the 2020 season. Coldstream CC is an 18-hole, championship golf course located in

the Cincinnati countryside. Built by architect Dick Wilson in 1959, Coldstream has always been

among the top golf destinations in the state of Ohio. With upcoming renovation plans we expect to

be able to provide a first-rate internship experience.

In July of 2020 Coldstream will begin on a golf course renovation. Along side golf course

architect Keith Foster, Coldstream will be restored to its original bold and powerful design. Our

master plan includes an impressive redesign of greens complexes and bunkering, re-alignment of

fairways and tees, as well as infrastructure improvements such as irrigation and drainage. As an

intern, expect full exposure to all aspects of the project while still maintaining the golf course at

a high level for the membership.

Turfgrasses Bentgrass greens, tees and fairways. Roughs consist of a tall fescue/bluegrass blend.

Managing 40 acres of bentgrass in the transition zone presents many challenges. We must rely on sound irrigation practices and timely chemical applications to promote healthy turf.

Tradition Soon after its construction in 1959 Coldstream CC gained notoriety as being a large scale, bold and powerful golf course. Coldstream was not only extremely long for its time, but its greens sit heavily guarded by bunkering. Today, Coldstream remains a must see track. It plays host to a U.S Amateur Qualifier and is the home course for the Univ. of Cincinnati. Annually hosting the Bearcat Invitational, welcoming some of the best college golfers in the country.
