Welcome to Games Workshop’s 2008 CitadelMiniatures Collector’s CatalogueWelcome to our first attempt to create a catalogue

specifically covering showpiece models and dioramas,and alternative and unusual miniatures, together with the verybest of our extensive historic archive. As such the Collectorsrange is intended to both complement and supplement ourmain ranges which aim to provide all the essential troopstypes, characters and machinery required to assemble an armyfor Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 or build forces to playour The Lord of The Rings game. In selecting models for the‘Collectors’ range we have used three main criteria asexplained below.

Showpiece models are display pieces, often dioramas or set-pieces, primarily intended for painting and display rather thangaming. Although this is a small part of the Collectors range atthe moment we hope to add more showpiece models overtime.

Alternative models are metal alternatives to plastic models inthe main range, or alternative character variants too numerousand varied to include in the main Catalogue. Some of thesemodels have been drawn from previously discontinued rangesbut compare well in quality to modern designs – others arebrand new additions to the Collectors range.

Historic models are slices of Citadel’s history – they aremodels that remain popular amongst collectors either becausethey have special significance as design landmarks (such asthe Armour Through The Ages) or because they are charming,characterful or just plain quirky. Generally speaking, thesemodels do not match the quality of modern designs and theyare often significantly smaller.

Citadel has been manufacturing cast metal miniatures foralmost 30 years – and during that time we have producedmany thousands of different designs. Although the originalrubber moulds used to make the miniatures wear out andperish over time, a carefully assembled archive of metal‘master’ models is maintained enabling us to recreate manyold ‘classics’. Sadly, the archives are not 100% complete byany means. Some of the production methods used in the earlydays utilised conversions of the masters which were thendestroyed during the moulding process. Other masters havebeen lost or damaged over time. Models designed to be castin old-fashioned lead alloys may be impractical to cast usingmodern lead-free alloys and equipment. A proportion of ourolder models were produced under licenses that are no longervalid. Even so, we have an accessible archive of somethinglike 16,000 different individual cast pieces.

Our policy is to maintain a catalogue of Collectors models ofa size that we can reliably manufacture and supply. We can’thope to make all of our entire archives available at once, soinstead we will cycle through our back-catalogues, droppingpieces where demand is low and adding pieces that arecommonly asked for or which we think will be popular.Although models will always be retained in the range if thereis genuine demand – we cannot guarantee that any modelswill be available year after year – and would suggest thatserious collectors make purchases whilst models are availablerather than taking a chance.

Our Collectors range is growing all the time as we add newmodels or recommission moulds from our archives. Thecomplete and up-to-date catalogue will therefore be found onour web-site at www.games-workshop.com.

How to Purchase Items from this CatalogueYou can order your items in Games Workshop stores. Information for ordering Games Workshop products directly fromus, via our online store or by phone, can be found and the end of this catalogue.

Each product in the 2008 Collectors Catalogue is identified by a title (in bold) and an 11-digit code. Please quote thesewhen ordering. Below are some examples from the Warhammer 40,000 section.

About the ModelsMost of the models in this catalogue are shownpainted. All models are supplied unpainted. Allminiatures are shown at ACTUAL SIZE, unlessotherwise noted. All models that require a base aresupplied with the correct plastic Citadel miniatureslottabase.

The models shown in this catalogue are shownassembled. This is not how they are supplied. Allmodels will require some assembly. Most modelsrequire nothing more complicated than affixing theminiature to its plastic base.

Sculpted by Juan Diaz in 2004, the model depicts Tehenhauin as the living vengeance of his kind against those thatdesecrate the lands of the Lizardmen. He carries the ‘Blade of the Serpent’s Tongue’, and is surrounded by a swarm ofserpents, beasts of the jungle that are drawn to him and follow him everywhere. The still-beating heart of a Skaven is heldaloft, a sacrifice to Sotek.

Sculpted by Dave Thomas, this beautifully detailed vignette depicts a Warrior Priest blessing the rifle of a Handgunner on theeve of battle, appealing to Sigmar to guide his aim. This miniature depicts a scene of reverence and piety.

Tichi-Huichi's destiny was clear. It was he who had been chosen togo out into the wider regions to find and bring back the relicswhich the Old Ones had shown him in his dreams. Following hisinstinct and allowing the thoughts of those greater than himself todirect his plans, Tichi-Huichi has set out, leading his fine regimentof Cold One Riders to recover the sacred items from his visions.

Long Drong Slayer has a hook hand, peg leg, eyepatch, long red plaited beard, pistolsstuffed down his breeches and a parrot on his shoulder which says "bits o' gold, bits o'gold" all the time. His crew are a swarthy bunch of rogues who are proud to fight under

the skull and crossbones flag. They are also festooned with pistols, creating a hurricane ofdestruction when they are fired at the enemy!

These dynamic models depict the final moments of the Witch-king beforeÉowyn, Shield Maiden of Rohan and niece of King Théoden delivers themortal blow, robbing the army of Mordor of their dark general. The loyalHobbit, Merry, is also close by - together he and Éowyn stood firm againstthe Witch-king of Angmar and avenged the death of Théoden. With theWitch-king destroyed, the forces of good won the day.
