Paint The Town® Bradenton presents Representa-tional Art which is painted on location ‘en plein air’
from actual local scenes. 2012 Paint The Town® Braden-ton is a Public Paint-out event benefitting the ArtCenter Manatee, the Bradenton Cultural Community and the Painting artists.

Paint The Town® Bradenton will be judged by nationally renowned plein air artist and instructor Katie Dobson Cundiff. Awards will be distributed at opening Recep-tion on Thursday, April 12, 2012, 5-7 pm at ArtCenter Manatee. The reception is open to the public.

Paint The Town® Bradenton is hosting a 4-hour Quick Draw Event at the Farmer’s Market, Main Street Bra-denton on Saturday April 7th from 9 AM - 12 PM. Paintings will on view/for sale ‘on easel’ 1PM - 2 PM.
Local artists, competition painters, professionals, amateurs and the simply adventurous compete and have fun in this event. Artists have two hours and ten blocks to complete their works. During this short time, all registered Quick Draw participants will set up their Easels and paint/draw ‘en plein air’ at the downtown Bradenton Farmers’ Market. Together, artists and spectators are immersed in the creative process. See the scenes and how the artists interpret them. Smell the wet paint and get caught up in the excitement of watching plein air painting come to life before your eyes.

9 AM - 10 AM Saturday - Painting Artists gather at ‘Plein Air Table’, Farmer’s Market, Old Main Street, Bradenton
10 AM - 12 NOON - Painting Time from 10 AM until 12 NOON.
12 NOON - Artists bring their completed Quickdraw painting (unframed) to ‘Plein Air Quickdraw Tent’ TO BE Judged.
1 - 2 PM - Paintings displayed ‘on easel’ unframed for Awards.

Paint The Town® is hosting a Plein Air Workshop:Adventure into Plein Air with Katie Dobson Cundiff ‘It takes time to acquire the skill to observe and under-stand painting outdoors verses the studio. Be brave! There are ever changing obstacles to deal with. Sun, rain, wind, bugs, wild animals, cars, and of course the curious observer. Your paint behaves differently outdoors, and the amount of information available can be overwhelm-ing. Even seasoned outdoorpainters experience these obstacles, so don’t be discouraged. Painting en plein air will be challenging, but the rewards are great. Get out the sunscreen, bug repellent, hat, painting gear and be ready for an adventure. Share the rewards of painting from life in the open air!’

Create inspiring plein air paintings through a 5 step process, in this intensive and exciting three day workshop with plein air impressionist, Katie Dobson Cundiff. Take your ideas and turn them into inspiring plein air paintings.
Classes will include informal lectures, demonstration, indi-vidual painting time with one on one instruction, and indi-vidual and class critiques. Open to all levels, so if you are new to plein air, or need to refresh your outdoorpainting skills, you will not want ot miss this three day workshop. A value at $295.00 Friday, April 13th through Sunday, April 15th 9 am -4:30 pm.
