Text-related information
Valentine’s Day:
Valentine’s Day was first associated with a priest named Valentine, who lived in Rome during the third century. Valentine was said to have performed weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry. The Roman Emperor Claudius II supposedly forbade this in order to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers.
Valentine was eventually arrested, imprisoned, and put to death on February 14.
