Students have the opportunity to change major within the College of Architecture several times a year: Environmental Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Visualization and University

Studies October 1, 2020, March 1, 2021 & June 1, 2021

• You must complete an application and have a TAMU GPA. The departments review the applications and will notify you if you have been accepted.

• Programs within the College of Architecture (other than University Studies) do not accept change of majors past 60 hours.

• Change of Majors is not permitted at New Student Conference.

There is no open access computing in any College of Architecture Facilities! Carry you laptop with you all day every day!

All students at TAMU pay differential tuition. The rate varies by College.

20% is set aside for scholarships (FAFSA required)

80% goes back to the Department / College where it is generated to support: Increased summer offerings Reduced class size Support additional international

ARCHITECTURE Differential Tuition

The state of Texas allows you 6 Q drops during your entire academic career. If you attend multiple Texas institutions, Q drops from one university follows you to the next.

TAMU only allows for 4 Q drops! Q drops in 1 hour classes do not count toward the TAMU count but do toward the

State of Texas count.

If you Q drop a class with a lab - that will only count as one Q drop for TAMU and the State of Texas, as long as they are both dropped at the same time.

If you have more than 30 hours over the number required for your degree, you will be charged excess tuition on every hour past 30. Some of the hours that you took in high school may count toward the excess tuition.

Parents do not have a legitimate academic interest in their college age children.

WHAT’S HULLABALOO U? Hullabaloo U is Texas A&M’s first-year experience course. These courses are specifically designed to help new first-year students make a successful transition to campus, both academically and personally. Emphasis is on community building with content that focuses on well-being, success strategies, awareness of campus resources, and becoming an engaged member of the Texas A&M community. �STRUCTURE Weekly, 50 minute group meetings of 25 or fewer students throughout fall semester Led by 1 staff/faculty instructor and 1 peer mentor Typically scheduled as 0 credit hour (some experiences are 1 credit hour) BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATION First-Year Seminars such as Hullabaloo U have been extensively researched. HOW STUDENTS REGISTER It is an expectation that students register for a Hullabaloo U section Students will register for a section during course registration Some students who are recipients of a specific scholarship, in a learning community or the Corps will have a specific Hullabaloo U section assigned to them; some colleges/departments have specific experiences designed for their students or specific populations of students. Other students will be able to choose from an interdisciplinary section option. Refer to the flow chart for your college and other materials provided for specific placement details.
