CAKE DECORATION

You don‟t have to have a sweet tooth to like cakes. Enter this

competition if you think you are good at decorating cakes.

Rules:

1) A simple marble cake will be provided by the organizers.

2) Students must bring their own toppings, frosting or any other

items required to decorate the cake.

3) Students must decorate the cake during the given time. (30 mins)

4) Unlimited number of students may enter the competition.

This competition allows you to show your skills at vegetable cutting

and making a finger licking salad.

Rules

1) Vegetables and utensils will be provided by the organizers.

2) The salad must be prepared on spot during the given time.

(10minutes)

3) Only three students from each year may enter the competition.

ENSALDA

VEGETABLE CARVING

The purpose of fruit and vegetable carving is to make food more

attractive, more appetizing, and also easier to eat. Decorating

fresh, well-formed, and colourful fruits and vegetables through

artistic carving is by no means difficult; all it takes is concentration

and creativity. This event will allow you to display your skills at this

activity.

Rules

1) Each participant must bring their own vegetables and other

items they wish to use.

2) The participant should not bring pre-carved vegetables.

3) Judgment will be based on creativity and general

attractiveness of the submitted work.

CUPCAKE DECORATION

Design a cupcake with anything you want and win this competition.

Rules:

1) Cupcakes will be provided by the organizers.

2) Students must bring their own toppings, frosting or any other

items required to decorate the cupcake.

3) Any individual may enter the competition.

4) Judgment will be based on creativity and general

attractiveness of the submitted work.

5) The student must finish the decoration during the time given

(15mins)

Fun filled competition in which participants must use the fruit

provided to make the most delicious juice.

Rules:

1) Fruits, Blenders and other utensils will be provided by the

organizers.

2) Three students per group.

3) Only one group from each year is allowed to enter the

competition.

DUELLING BRUSHES

Have you ever gone to a museum, looked at the paintings on the

walls, and wondered if you could paint as good as them? This

event offers everybody a great opportunity to display their skills in

painting and sketching.

Rules

1) All artwork must be done on-site.(1hr)

2) Participants must bring their own board, canvas, palettes,

brushes, paints or any other items they wish to use..

3) Theme will be announced on the day of the competition.

Carving challenges you to find a form, such as a tooth, that is

trapped in a block of wax. If a logical progression of removal of

material is followed, you can feel more at ease when carving wax.

If you are good at it, feel free to participate and show your skill &

imagination.

Rules

1) The wax blocks will be provided on site.

2) Participants must being their own instruments they require to

carry out the task. (30mins)

3) Unlimited number of students from each year may enter the

competition.

WAX CARVING

HENNA ART

The art form of Mehndi(Henna) differs from region to region, as it

is a tradition that has been a part of so many cultures . If you think

you can make creative henna patterns then this competition not only

gives you a chance to display your henna artwork but also to win a

fantastic prize.

Rules:

1)Each solo participant must bring their own henna cone.

2)The participant may come prepared with a pattern but tracers and

stencils are not allowed.

3)Time given: 30 minutes

4)Designs will be judged based on originality, neatness and overall

esthetics.

Are pictures your language? Do you have a knack for capturing

million dollar smiles? Then here's your chance. Capture the most

appealing picture in your lens and show us what you have got. Set

your shutterbug free!

Rules

1) Every solo participant may submit one or two photographs

based on any theme.

2) Photographs must be submitted as a soft copy.

3) The photographs must be high quality original pieces.

4) Judging criteria: Originality, Quality and Theme.

Topic to be given on the spot

Time limit – one hour

(aThe essays may be submitted in either Arabic

or English

Poetry and prose both permitted

(aThe essays will be judged based on the story

and writing skill.

CARDMAKING (Greeting Card Designing Competition)

How would you design a modern greeting card?

What message would you choose for your card to

express special feelings? Now, apart from any

occasion, it‘s your chance to demonstrate your

creativity! No matter if your card is colourful or

plain, big or small, round or square, handmade or

printed, photographed or painted! Surprise and

delight us with your fresh, future oriented

design!

Rules

Theme for the card will be announced a week

before the program.

The card must be submitted two days from the

day of the program.

There are no size restrictions.

BEST FROM WORST

Nowadays garbage is carried away through sewers and dustbins or

dumped in the oceans. Here is the opportunity to show your

innovative skill to create wealth from waste. This waste recycling

competition gives you an opportunity to show your skill to create

something innovative with everyday waste.

Rules

1) Judging criteria: Creativity, overall esthetics.

2) Any individual may participate.

3) Any disposed product may be used except edible items.

4) The created item must be submitted at least to the class

representative two days before the event.

SOAP FOOTBALL

Become the next Lionel Messi and bring a team from your year

of five players to compete for the title of „Soap Football

Champions 2013”. Prove that your feet can do the talking rather

than your mouths.

Rules:

1) Team of 5 members

2) Usual football rules apply

3) Duration 7 min. ( subject to change )

4) Kindly bring a change of clothes as the game is played in

soapy water

If you have an exciting and fun personality than you complete this

challenge and prove that you've got what it takes to win it in a

minute?

Rules:

1) Team of 3- 4 members

2) Contestants take part in a series of 60-second challenges that

use objects that are commonly available around the house &

must successfully complete a game within 60 seconds to win

the first round and advance to the next round.

3) Two teams will compete with each other & the winning team

will move to the next round

4) The difficulty of the games progressively increase throughout

the show.

BRAINSTORM

This is an enthralling event where teams will be questioned on

various fields such as literature, science and technology, history,

finance, politics, & sports.

Rules:

1) Only three members in a team allowed

2) Written preliminary rounds ( if more teams)

3) Unlimited number of teams are permitted

4) Six teams will go into the finals

5) The decision of the judge will be final and binding

DEBATE

A team event where you may prove your debating skills. All you need

is strategic thinking and ruthlessness to go for the kill.

Rules :

1)A team will consist of 4 participants.

2)The speakers will get 2 minutes each to express their views, then

there will be rebuttal session of 1 minute.

3)The topic will be given 1-2 hrs prior to the commencement of the

debate.

4)Only one team from each year will be allowed.

DUMB CHARADES

Each team will be presented a slip of paper with a secret phrase or

word. The slip of paper with the secret phrase is revealed to one

member of the other team, the "actor", but kept secret from the

remainder of the other team, the "guessers“. The guessers attempt to

guess the word or phrase based on the actor's performance.

Rules:

1)The players divide into 2 teams

2)Maximum 4 participants allowed in each team.

3)The actor then has a limited period of time (1minute) in which to

convey the secret phrase to the guessers by pantomime.

Search for a treasure in the AUST campus following a whole lot

interesting brain whacking clues.

Rules:

1) A team of 5 students from each year will be allowed.

2) The team must not split-up during the hunt.

3) You cannot communicate with teammates using cell phones

unless you have become unintentionally separated. This also

means that you cannot arrange to have someone at another

location doing research for you.

4) No student can cancel their name from the team on the day of the

event

Do you think you can type a message faster than your friends? Well,

prove it by challenging them in this contest.

Rules

1) A message will be given on stage to the participants. The time

he/she takes to send the message to a given number will

determine the winner.

2) The participant must make sure that his/her phone has enough

credit to send messages.

3) Anyone attending the event is eligible to enter the competition.

Whether you‟re the next Steven Spielberg or James Cameron, whether

your last video was entirely on the cutting room floor or is set to win

the Oscars, we want to see what you've got. You have one minute to

prove your editing skills.

Rules :

1) A one minute movie should be prepared and submitted at least

five days before the event.

2) Participants are allowed to make a movie based on any topic or

theme.

3) The judgment will be based on Originality, Humor, Quality,

Theme.

4) Only one movie from a group of each year will be accepted.

TUG OF WAR

This a team competition consisting of maximum eight members to

each team. The object is to pull a rope held by both teams opposite to

each other with nearly straight arms and legs with all members of

the team pulling in unison.

Rules:

1) One team from each year is allowed to enter the competition.

2) Maximum 8 students allowed in each team.

Ethnic stalls will showcase the celebration denoting the ways of

sharing cultural characteristics and traditionalism.

This will be the place to celebrate, eat, and learn a little bit more

about the different cultures
