BAJA INDIA…
Baja is a Competitive platform for Engineering students that introduces the
real world Engineering Design problems, in which the students are challenged to design and manufacture an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) that can survive in the worst conditions of a territory. During the competition the ATV manufactured by the students is judged on the basis of static and structural design and then in the dynamic racing event. This event is organized in India by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
SGSITS team has been participating in this competition since the first Baja India event held in year 2007, in which our team presented the ATV “DHRUWAK” and accomplished 15th rank among the 27 teams from all over the country. In 2009 our college team participated in the Baja India event with its ATV “CENTAUR” which won 3 grand prizes for Minimum production cost, Maximum acceleration & the “Pride of Indore” along with securing the 10th overall ranking among the 75 teams from all over India.
In 2009 a new stream “VIRTUAL BAJA” has been introduced by the organizers in the competition in which students have to prepare a simulating design of the ATV, based on the true designing calculations and computer added modeling, here our team “Equinox Virtual” won the all India 1 st prize. In our 3rd Baja India competition held in 2010 we proved ourselves once again with “EQUINOX” by winning awards for THE GREEN VEHICLE, BEST FACULTY ADVISOR, and PRIDE OF INDORE along with the all over prize money of INR 5.1 lacs.
Regarding these restless efforts of our seniors in previous competitions now we are enthusiastically moving ahead with our ATV of 2011 the “AUM”
S.G.S.I.T.S. Team has participated in BAJA_INDIA with it’s victorious ATV’s:
“DHRUWAK” in year 2007.“CENTAUR” in year 2009.“EQUINOX” in year 2010.
Participated in first BAJA INDIA in 2007.
The only team from Central India.
Ranked 15th out of 27 total teams from all over the country.
Participated in BAJA INDIA in 2009.
Ranked 10th among 60 teams nationwide.Minimum manufacturing cost award.Maximum acceleration award.Pride of Indore award.Won total prize money of INR 1,60,000.
Participated in BAJA INDIA in 2010.Virtual Design challenge winner nationwide.Green vehicle award.
Best Faculty Advisor award.Pride of Indore award.
Won total prize money of INR 5,10,000.
The project has estimated budget of about INR 2,77,200.

Title Sponsorship (INR 1 Lac & above):
All the special benefits of Exclusive Sponsorship with Company’s name will be integrated into the name of the car
