Colonel Edward T. Bohnemann Combined Arms Center Chief of Staff U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth Colonel Edward T. Bohnemann graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1989 and was commissioned a second lieutenant of Infantry. During his initial assignment in the 3rd Armored Division in Friedberg, Germany, Colonel Bohnemann served as a Rifle Platoon Leader in the 5th Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment and deployed to Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. His next assignments included platoon leader and company executive officer with the 3d U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard). As a Captain, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia where he served as the 1st Brigade Assistant S3, 3-7 Infantry Battalion Assistant S3, and company commander of B Company, 3-7 Infantry Regiment. Following CGSC and SAMS, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia. During the next four years, he served as the Division Chief of Plans, Battalion S3 for 2-7 Infantry Regiment and the 1st Brigade S3. He also deployed in support of OIF I and III. He then served as an instructor at the Command and General Staff College. In June 2007, Colonel Bohnemann assumed command of the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment in the 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division and nine months later reflagged the battalion to 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. In June 2008, he deployed in support of OIF 08-10. He then attended the Advanced Operational Arts Studies Fellowship at Fort Leavenworth. In January 2011, COL Bohnemann assumed command of the 172d Infantry Brigade in Grafenwoehr, Germany and deployed the brigade to Paktika, Afghanistan in support of OEF 11-12. Upon redeployment from Afghanistan, COL Bohnemann led the brigade through its inactivation, completing it on 31 May 2013. From June 2013-AUG 2016 COL Bohnemann commanded the Mission Command Training Program. Colonel Bohnemann has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Masters in Military Arts and Sciences from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the Advanced Operational Arts Studies Fellowship. His awards and decorations include: Legion of Merit (1 OLC), the Bronze Star Medal (4 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), the Combat Infantryman Badge (Second Award), the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Parachute Badge, and Ranger Tab. COL Bohnemann and his wife Jennifer have been married for 27 years. They have three sons: John – 20, Jacob – 18, and Daniel -16.
