Columbia Opportunity Resource, COR, was formed in 2004 when a group of impassioned young leaders created a community resource for fellow, like-minded young professionals and a mission to impact change. They researched communities and organizations around the country and took a road trip to meet with leaders of Mpact Memphis, one of our sister organizations. A launch party was held in 2006 that attracted more than 500 attendees from across the Midlands. Since then, COR has established itself as a portal for community involvement; a pathway for leadership development; an advocate by pushing policies and issues important to young professionals; and a viable outlet for social enrichment. Today, COR is a dynamic, member-driven 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that connects young, talented professionals in the greater Columbia area to diverse and Today, COR is a dynamic, member-driven 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that connects young, talented professionals in the greater Columbia area to diverse and meaningful networks for leadership, service and fun. COR enjoyed a second year of partnership with WXRY Radio (99.3 FM) co-producing The Buzz, a segment and blog highlighting Columbia's calendar of events. The Buzz is written and recorded by COR members and airs

every hour, every day on WXRY.

This year we featured more than 1,095 opportunities on #TheBuzz.

More than 130 COR members and friends rocked Music Break, learned how to do business like rock stars and connected with more than 50 local musicians with this exciting new event.

COR teamed up with the South Carolina State Museum, Leadership Columbia Alumni Association and the Historic Columbia Foundation's Palladium Society for an end-all be-all party. More than 360 young professionals celebrated and danced the night away with exclusive access to the Museum's blockbuster exhibit, Secrets of the Maya.

Volunteers truly make a difference to COR's program of work - and to our community. This year we held three volunteer celebrations. Volunteers were given the red carpet treatment including food, beverages and door

prizes, not to mention smiles, hugs and high fives. In 2012, COR celebrated our members, our volunteers and our city. We upheld Columbia as a place where there's always lots to do and ways to get involved. We created excitement with new events and continued to raise awareness of Columbia's robust event calendar.

At COR, we end our mission statement with At COR, we end our mission statement with FUN for a reason.
