Parks, and supervised both the Hawaii and Cascades Volcano Observatories. He has represented AAAS and Betchart on many voyages in Southeast Alaska, a region he mapped and studied as a graduate student, and on many Columbia River voyages. DAY 5: EXPLORING THE PALOUSE RIVERThe still water of the Palouse River is the perfect mirror for the surrounding basalt cliffs as you set off cruising on your Zodiac and kayak adventures. DAY 6: CLARKSTON, WASHINGTONAt Clarkston, you find yourself at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers, more than 450 miles from the sea.
