Application Process for CJC - MAMC Combination Degree Program FORMS 1, 2, 3 AND MEMO OF UNDERSTANDING ARE INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET
What steps should I take if I want to apply to the Combination Degree program?
STEP ONE 1. Contact your undergraduate adviser to make sure you are eligible for our program.2. Fill out the Combination Degree Interest form (FORM 1) and Statement of Goals.
STEP TWO 3. Fill out the Combination Degree Program Plan (FORM 2), indicating what semester you plan on taking
a GRADUATE COURSE and obtain adviser’s signature.4. Schedule a meeting with an advisor in the graduate division (either Professional Master’s or Research
and Theory) to determine courses to include in Form 3. Complete the UF Combination Bachelor’s andMaster’s Degree Request form (FORM 3).
STEP THREE 5. Contact the Chair of your undergrad program to review FORM 2 and obtain their signature on FORM 3.6. Sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and obtain the signature of Associate
Dean Tom Kelleher and Associate Dean James Babanikos on FORM 3.

recommend meeting with one of the area coordinators (advertising, international com,
journalism, etc.).

• What do you feel you will accomplish both during and after you havecompleted the Combination Degree?

• Which master’s program do you intend on applying to?
• What are your career goals and how will this Combination Degree help youachieve them?

If you are interested in applying to the Combination Degree program, please fill out this FORM 1 and meet with your undergraduate adviser in the PATH office to ensure your eligibility. Complete the Combination Degree Program Plan (FORM 2) with your undergraduate adviser. When you have obtained the signature of your PATH undergraduate adviser, meet with the chair of the undergraduate department you are in for a signature on Form 3.

A 3.0 UF GPA (most programs require a higher GPA) is necessary to enroll in 12 hours (21 for certain programs) of graduate coursework during the junior and/or senior year. To apply the graduate credit to a master's degree, you must meet admission requirements of the Graduate School and all graduate coursework must be completed with grades of B or better. If you do not feel you can agree with the terms in this document, you will not be able to proceed with the University of Florida College of Journalism & Communications Combined Degree program. If you have any questions, you may contact the program director or graduate advisor.
• I understand that, to complete my MAMC degree, I must take the GRE before taking my third class in theprogram to initiate my application. Afterward, I must apply to the Graduate program before the deadlineand take the remaining courses after being accepted into the program.
• I understand that the combined degree program requires that I maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout myundergraduate enrollment at the University of Florida.
