Congratulations to all students who completed the Premier’s Reading
Challenge! Well done—this is a great achievement!
I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that the current push by advertising companies to promote Halloween may be encouraging families to support their children to participate in ‘trick or treating’ on October 31st. Please consider the following Do all members of your local community engage in Halloween
activities? Can you guarantee all home owners will give a positive response if
met at the door by ‘trick or treat’? Will drivers on the road be watching carefully for children who
might be out and about? Does the act of accepting ‘treats’ from strangers contradict any
other safety messages you teach your children? If you are intending to allow your children to engage in ‘trick or treating’ the following safety tips are strongly advised by professionals all children should be supervised by a responsible adult Children should not approach houses of people unknown to the
family Families are advised to make agreements with each other of:
times and the types of treats provided

Smile Squad is here! We have had a great response so far to
the opportunity of FREE dental care for our students. The team
from Smile Squad are currently completing preliminary checks on students who have already
returned consent forms.
The next part of the process is a dental vehicle which will arrive onsite, where any further
treatments will be conducted. We have not been advised of when this will take place, but we
anticipate it will be in the next few weeks.
If you have not yet returned your child’s consent form, but would like your child to receive a check
up, you still have time to return your form! If any forms are received after the first batch of initial
consultations are completed, those check ups will be conducted in the dental vehicle, once it arrives.
Don’t miss this opportunity for your child to receive a free check up!

At Cranbourne Primary School learning starts at 9am every day.
Missing even one day of school can make children fall behind in class. Even if it is the day before or
after a school break, students are learning new things every day that will help them stay on track. It is
important to also be on time each day so students don’t miss important parts of class.
