For all the controversy about the origin of Easter celebrations and the reasons we use the name, one thing remains true: the holy day has long been the high point of celebrations in the Christian Church. It is our special joy to celebrate because is not just a day from the distant past, nor just a day on the Church’s annual calendar, nor just our day to celebrate, but rather that it is the Lord’s day, a day of judgment against all who oppose Christ but of forgiveness to all who believe in him. This has made every day a special blessing and joy for all people and a way to be part of our risen Lord Jesus’ ongoing work to save his world!

CONFESSING OUR FAITH APOSTLES’ CREED C I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and

earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
