My office has verified information provided bythe Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development Department aboutapartments that are/or might become available and may have a waiting list. JUNE IN REVIEWThe DMV at Goodlet Event
Commissioner Bovo, State Senator Rene Garcia and Haileah Mayor CarlosHernandez hosted a DMV on wheels event at the Goodlet Adult Center in Hialeah.The event allowed residents to aquire and renew their driver licenses, convert out ofstate licenses and replacement for lost or stolen license. Also in attendance was the Miami-Dade County Elections Department and the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX). The Elections department provided assistancewith voter's registration and other election department services. MDX gave free SunPasses to everyone who attended the event.

Commissioner Bovo presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the "Missing ChildrenGlobal Network, Inc." In recognition of their valuable contributions to the communitybefore the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, June 17th.
Goodlet Father's Day Festival
Commissioner Bovo visits the Annual Father's Day Celebration at the Goodlet SeniorCenter.
"Working For You" Campaign, 311 Call Center and ElectionsDepartment
Commissioner Bovo got some first-hand experience in the day-to-day operations oftwo Miami-Dade County departments by spending the day with these departments astheir employee. As part of his "Working for You" campaign, the Commissioner visited the Electionsdepartment and the Community Information and Outreach Department's 311 CallCenter. At Elections, he greeted voters and learned how a ballot is configured andprepared. At the 311 Center, he answered residents' calls, toured the facility with thedirector and met with employees to learn about their jobs.

BCC Special Presentations
Commissioner Bovo presented Certificates of Appreciation recognizing members ofthe 2013-2014 Bob Graham Education Center Bobcat dance team. The Commissioner also presented Certificates of Appreciation recognizing membersof the American High School Baseball team's contributions in winning the FHSAA2014 Baseball State Championships class 7A.

Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste ManagementDepartment Holiday Waste Service Schedule for the
Independence Day Holiday, Friday, July 4, 2014 Waste collection and disposal customers of the Miami-Dade County Public Worksand Waste Management Department (PWWM) should note the following schedule forgarbage and recycling collection services, disposal operations and the Department'sAdministrative Offices for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, Friday, July 4,2014: Curbside Garbage and Trash Collection ServiceThere will be NO collection of garbage or trash on Friday, July 4, 2014. Curbside Recycling Collection ServiceRecycling WILL be collected as normal on Friday, July 4, 2014. PWWM curbsiderecycling customers whose scheduled recycling day falls on July 4 should place theirrecycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2014. Neighborhood Trash and Recycling CentersThe Department's 13 Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers will be CLOSED.

Resources Recovery Facility, Landfills and Transfer StationsThe Department's Resources Recovery Facility and South Dade Landfill will beOPEN during normal operating hours. Administrative OfficesThe Department's administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2014.
"SUMMER SAVINGS TO SAVE LIVES" WAIVED ADOPTION FEES
FOR ALL DOGS OVER 35 LBS
Miami-Dade County Animal Services is offering "Summer Savings to Save Lives"waived adoption fees for large dogs over 35 lbs. from Saturday, May 24, throughSunday, August 31, 2014. All adopted large and lovable dogs are spayed/neutered,vaccinated, microchipped and ready to go to a forever home.
Free adoptions for large dogs will also be offered at all off-site pet adoption eventshosted by Miami-Dade County Animal Services.
