One Ocean Expeditions facilitates world leading oceanographic and marine mammal research, providing more than 120 days per year of ship time for accredited science projects. Through partnerships including the Vancouver Aquarium, Oceanites, and UC Santa Cruz Institute of Marine Sciences, expert scientists conduct their research during expedition cruises in the Arctic, Antarctica, and all places in-between. Data collected provides proprietary insight to universities and scientifi c organizations to directly support our understanding of climate change, infi ltration of microplastics into the ocean, as well as wildlife migration and population tracking. Exclusive to One Ocean Expeditions, scientifi c research projects deliver an engaging and educational experience for all passengers onboard, as scientists work alongside our guests to collect and analyze data during each voyage.

One Ocean Expeditions is a leader in modern-day polar exploration, and is dedicated to fi nding new ways to experience the geography and culture of polar regions.In collaboration with partners including The Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) and Parks Canada, One Ocean Expeditions was one of four supporting vessels involved in the discovery of Sir John Franklin’s fabled lost vessel, HMS Erebus, in 2014, thereby solving one of the greatest polar marine mysteries of all time.One Ocean Expeditions supported Arctic Inuit historian Louie Kamookak in the Humahuk Expedition, using traditional indigenous knowledge to assist in the search of Sir Franklin’s vessels.As part of its commitment to new discoveries and outreach, One Ocean Expeditions supports the Scott Polar Research Institute, Vancouver Maritime Museum, and RCGS’ Expedition Program.

One Ocean Expeditions facilitates student internships with Nunavut Arctic College and conducts onboard programs in partnership with Canadian Geographic Education. OOE has also collaborated with the New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust to create the fi rst-of-its-kind ‘Inspiring Explorers’ program to educate and inspire young people through multi-day Antarctic expeditions.
