Welcome Address It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the 7th International Conference of Nuclear Cardiology (ICNC-7) in Lisbon, Portugal. The ICNC meeting has become the international scientific event in the Nuclear Cardiology calendar. Every two years practitioners in nuclear cardiology from all over the world gather to learn about new advances and to exchange scientific ideas and experiences in a unique ambiance solely devoted to nuclear cardiology. Attendees of previous meetings know what to expect: an attractive and diversified scientific program which offers a full spectrum of learning opportunities: from continuing medical education to presentations of the most recent advances in nuclear cardiology, as well as presentations of new and original scientific research. Young investigators have the opportunity to compete for the ICNC Young Investigators Award. The exciting venue of ICNC-7 is Lisbon, a city steeped in European history. There is much to enjoy in this city and its environments. The ancient Romans and Moors left their marks on this country that achieved its greatest fame and wealth in the 15th century under Henry the Navigator and his successors. The Portuguese spirit of exploration and pushing boundaries will be an appropriate background for ICNC-7. We are looking forward to three exciting days of learning, exploration of new directions, scientific stimulation and meeting international colleagues. Furthermore, an attractive social program is planned, including a splendid opening ceremony and grand gala banquet. We wish you a productive meeting and a wonderful stay in Lisbon.
