Consent is granted to the felling of one Beech tree T98 under section 198 of the Town & Country Planning Act which has provisions for dead, dying and dangerous trees. The tree is adjacent to High Street, Old Whittington and is dropping debris into the highway. The owner has been informed to remove the tree as a matter of urgency. Condition to replant.

A new preservation order will be made on an adjacent tree as its replacement. The tree has recently lost a large branch from within the crown and there are signs that the root plate has moved considerably leaving the tree very vulnerable to wind throw.
