The New York Landscape with Common Core New York State
Department of Education (NYSED) adopts Common Core. Aligns with the
PARCC assessment consortium in July 2010 Modifies 15% of Common
Core to create Common Core Learning Standards for NY Starts
aligning state tests with Common Core. Contracts with Pearson to
develop NY state exam (ELA & Math, 3-8) Temporary state tests
prior to PARCC decision Computerized PARCC assessments in 2014-15
