Common Word Commands When working in Word 2013, knowing and understanding the commands will make for a more efficient and fluent workflow. Some of the most common commands used on a regular basis include the following. Moving the insertion point To a specific page: To easily navigate to a specific page using keyboard shortcuts, use the command Ctrl + G to display the Find & Replace dialog box. From here, you can enter the page number to which you wish to navigate. You can also move up or down from page to page by using the Page Up and Page Down keys to move throughout the document. To the beginning or end of a line: Move the insertion point quickly to the beginning of a line by using the Home key. Move to the end of a line by using the End key. To the beginning or end of a document: Move the insertion point quickly to the beginning of the document by using the command Ctrl + Home. Use the command Ctrl + End to quickly move to the end of the document. Deleting text from an insertion point To delete an entire word: Place insertion point before the word and use the command Ctrl + Delete. If the insertion point is at the end of the word, use the command Ctrl + Backspace. Selecting content Select a word or paragraph using the mouse: Select a single word by double-clicking the left mouse button. Triple-click the left mouse button to select an entire paragraph. Select the document using keyboard shortcuts: Select the entire document with the keyboard command Ctrl + A. The ability to use these commands will allow you to better create your word documents and expand on your working knowledge of the program.

Common Word Commands

When working in Word 2013, knowing and understanding the commands will make for a more efficient

and fluent workflow. Some of the most common commands used on a regular basis include the

following.

Moving the insertion point

To a specific page: To easily navigate to a specific page using keyboard shortcuts, use the

command Ctrl + G to display the Find & Replace dialog box. From here, you can enter the page

number to which you wish to navigate. You can also move up or down from page to page by

using the Page Up and Page Down keys to move throughout the document.
