Community Day 2014

Firmenich

is a Swiss company based in Grodzisk Maz producing and selling fragrances and aromas.

The Community Day is a charity event when the company supports local organizations by educating people.

They invited students from Gimnazjum nr 3 for a Community Day to learn and have fun.

Some workers described what they do in the company and what education is needed for their job.

The participants found out what a fragrance and olfactory pyramid are, what types of perfume we have

and how they are made.

The students smelled ...

…they checked how we recognize taste of products if we don`t smell their fragrance (very badly ! See yourself !)

They discovered the mysteries of drinks – sweeteners, conservants, acids, colourants ...

Then the students composed their „ideal” drink, the one they would like to find in shops.

…chosing components, measuring the quantity of ingredients, stirring ...

Next chosing the kind of package, planning the marketing campaign, deciding about the target

group.

Finally, one participant per group advertised their product and the rest could compare what the advert and

the reality have in common ...

The students had a great time and they learned a lot in a very attractive way. Finally – a common picture and getting some

souvenirs NOT to forget what they found out :)
