The review started on 1 July 2016 and concluded on 27 June 2017. In that time electors in the area under review as well as bodies such as the current parish councils that have an interest in the Review have been able to have their say. The Borough Council wanted to hear what you think should be represented in future parish and other arrangements. When can I have my say? The views expressed during the review are available via the contact details below. If you have any views on the final recommendations they should be submitted using the same details. So what will it mean for me? The final recommendations can be summarised below: • That the south western boundary of the Parish be realigned so that those areas of residential development adjacent to Shortstown be excluded from Cardington Parish. • That Cardington Parish continues to have a Parish Council and the number of Parish Councillors on the Parish Council continues to be seven. • That the support expressed by local electors for the re-naming of Cardington Parish to Cardington Village be communicated to Cardington Parish Council to make a determination. You are urged to look at the final recommendations rather than the summary above. The final recommendations will be submitted to Full Council on 12 July 2017 and, if approved, an order will be made to bring the recommendations into effect on 1 April 2019. Where do I find out more? What is a Community Governance Review? This is a review of parishes and other arrangements by which communities can be represented and through which they can engage. The main aims of a review are to secure future arrangements that:• Reflect the identities and interests of the communities in the area; and• Are effective and convenient

Who has a say?The review started on 1 July 2016 and concluded on 27 June 2017. In that time electors in the area under review as well as bodies such as the current parish councils that have an interest in the Review have been able to have their say. The Borough Council wanted to hear what you think should be represented in future parish and other arrangements.

When can I have my say?The views expressed during the review are available via the contact details below. If you have any views on the final recommendations they should be submitted using the same details.

So what will it mean for me?The final recommendations can be summarised below:

• That the boundary of Eastcotts Parish be amended to incorporate the area of land that is currently in Cardington Parish referred to as NM1 on map shown.

• That Eastcotts Parish continues to have a Parish Council and the Parish name continues to be Eastcotts.

• That the number of Parish Councillors on Eastcotts Parish Council continues to be 15.

• That, as proposed by Eastcotts Parish Council and supported by 27.20% of local government electors in Cotton End and 5.89% in Shortstown, Eastcotts Parish continues to have two Parish Wards and the names of the two Wards should continue to be Eastcotts North (Shortstown) and Eastcotts South (Cotton End). The incorporated area referred to as NM1 on the map shown should become part of Eastcotts North (Shortstown) Parish Ward. There should be 10 Parish Councillors for Eastcotts North (Shortstown) and five Parish Councillors for Eastcotts South (Cotton End). That is be noted that, in this regard, the General Purposes Committee has accepted that this would promote an enduring inequality in the representation of electors in Shortstown (and NM1) compared with the disproportionately greater representation of Cotton End and has accordingly directed a further Community Governance Review for Eastcotts Parish be commenced as soon as practicable and conclude before 1 April 2019.

You are urged to look at the final recommendations rather than the summary above.

The final recommendations will be submitted to Full Council on 12 July 2017 and, if approved, an Order will be made to bring the recommendations into effect on 1 April 2019.
