Kodivinaya, a drama based on a concept of Dehiwala – Mt. Lavinia Mayor Dhanasiri Amaratunga to raise awareness among the people on the scourge of dengue and the need to keep the environment clean, is being staged in schools and Dhamma schools. The China Machinery Engineering Corporation donated essential goods for the use of soldiers at the Ranaviru Sevana, a rehabilitation centre for soldiers, in Ragama recently. The goods which included walkers, clutches, commode chairs and ceiling fans were handed over to the soldiers by the CMEC team, Commander, Brig. Hemantha Kulathunga. Deputy Commander, Col. A Bodhi pooja to invoke blessings on the victims of nat-ural disasters was held last month at the Kalutara Bodhi premises recently, on the initiative of the coordinator of Buddhist Affairs, Kalutara district, Ven.
