Gee Square Holdings SRL is a supplies and logistics company that provides goods, services and industrial solutions to a wide range of organisations including international relief agencies and engineering companies.

Gee Square was founded in March 2015 and is owned by Essel Group ME (“EGME”). Essel Group ME (“EGME”) operates subsidi-ary businesses in the natural resources, industrial supply and logistics, and education sectors. Our natural resources portfolio includes oil and gas, potash and iron ore assets. EGME pursues growth through the acquisition of underdeveloped assets at competitive valuations.

EGME is a part of Essel Group, the Indian multinational conglomerate operating in a broad spectrum of industries including media, packaging, infrastructure and technology. Building on Essel Group’s 90 year history of developing and promoting businesses, EGME is leading the expansion of the Group’s presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Gee Square serves clients across the globe and works closely with humanitarian organisations and in-dependent contractors.

Gee Square is a level 2, UN-approved vendor, supplying emer-gency one-stop humanitarian aid and development solutions to a wide range of international relief agencies such as the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (“FAO”), UNICEF, and the United Nations’ Mission in South Sudan (“UNMISS”). Gee Square is also a EU vendor and an o�cial IOM (International Organisation for Migration) vendor.

With a broad portfolio of relief products, Gee Square can meet the diverse requirements of relief missions around the world; for example, the company has provided hygiene kits, medical packs, education tools, sleeping bags, tents, agricultural fertilizer and �shing equipment.

Gee Square is the �rst and only company to successfully supply relief supplies during active war situations in Libya and Yemen. In August 2015, Gee Square team was awarded the task of supplying urea to farmers at 19 di�erent locations in Yemen by the UN’s agency FAO. Gee Square’s team navigated unpredictable and dangerous conditions to deliver relief supplies successfully.

General Trading

Gee Square’s general trading arm has a global capability, covering a wide range of goods including oil and gas, coal, steel, nonferrous and precious metals and soft commodities. Gee Square’s clients include multinational energy and chemical companies, global coal and metal traders, utilities and soft commodity trading houses.

Gee Square’s close ties with some of the world’s leading suppliers have given it a competitive edge over other companies in our sectors. It is well placed to deliver a specialised and highly reliable service to its clients and has a track record of moving commodities across the globe reliably, e�ciently and responsibly.

Gee Square also operates as an engineering and construction contractor o�ering a range of services including project design, procurement and construction. It has worked across a variety of sectors including agriculture, construction, power generation, mining and renewable energy.

Gee Square recently opened a branch o�ce in Cairo, Egypt, from where it can pursue growth opportunities a�orded by local government and private tenders in North Africa and the Middle East.

Egypt expects to generate 20% of its power from renewable sources by 2022, massively increasing the role of solar, wind and hydropower. Gee Square’s expertise in solar energy will form a core part of its o�ering in the region.

LibyaIn June 2015 ACTED, the French humanitarian NGO, commissioned Gee Square to deliver health hygiene kits to the Marsa Al Brega region in Libya. Despite facing extremely challenging conditions, including the lack of any active port facilities, the team successfully completed its operation and delivered vital supplies and services to thousands of families.

YemenIn December 2015 the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (“FAO”) appointed Gee Square to supply 310 tonnes of agricultural fertilizers to farmers in 19 di�erent locations across Yemen. The assignment required Gee Square to enter into negotia-tions with the authorities in Saudi Arabia and on the ground on Yemen, after which all 6,220 bags of fertilizer were delivered safely to their intended targets.

South SudanIn March 2016, Gee Square secured contracts from two aid agencies to deliver supplies to South Sudan. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (“FAO”) appointed Gee Square to supply �shing equipment to its operations in Juba. Gee Square's team arranged for 7 containers to be shipped from China to the port of Mombasa in Kenya and it then oversaw the safe transportation of the cargo to the FAO’s warehouses in Juba.

Under the terms of the second contract, which was granted by the United Nation Mission in South Sudan (“UNMISS”), Gee Square was appointed to supply and deliver drilling equipment to the agency’s workers in Juba. This project is ongoing.

Gee Square has been recognised for its work in successfully delivering aid supplies to civilians a�ected by the con�icts inLibya, Yemen and South Sudan.

Gagan Goel Managing Director, Essel Group ME

In October 2003, Mr. Goel founded Dish TV, one of India’s �rst direct-to-home television platforms which now boasts over 20 million subscribers. Four years later he was appointed Executive Director of Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd, the Mumbai-listed media and entertainment company, where he was responsible for overseeing content production and marketing. Mr. Goel left the company in 2009 to become Executive Director of E-City Bioscope, the Indian leisure and real estate business. In 2011, Mr. Goel moved to Dubai to oversee Essel Group’s global expansion and to manage the group’s diversi�cation into natural resources. He founded EGME in 2012.

Mr. Goel is also Chairman of Simba Energy Inc., the TSX-V listed oil and gas exploration junior focused on the onshore frontier basins of Africa, and he sits on the company’s Board of Directors.

Punkaj Gupta Group Chief Executive, Essel Group ME

He has over 20 years of corporate experience in the natural resources and industrial sectors. Mr. Gupta started his career working for the United Nations Educational, Scien-ti�c and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Geneva. In 2000, he joined Jindal Saw Pipes, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of iron and steel pipe products, where he was responsible for business development and for growing the company overseas. He left the company in 2006 and was appointed Executive Director Asia Paci�c of Gap Steel, the Dubai based steel company. Two years later he joined Meta Copper, India’s largest manufacturer of copper products, as Executive Director and was responsible for starting various new business activities. Before joining EGME, Mr. Gupta managed a number of independent mining projects in India.

Mr. Gupta is also the Chief Executive O�cer of Simba Energy Inc.

Mr. Goel is a Director of Essel Group and the founder of EGME. He has more than 13 years experience of buildiing and leading international businesses.

Mr. Gupta joined Essel Group in 2012 to oversee the com-pany’s expansion into the natural resources industry and the eventual establishment of EGME in 2012.
