The actions that we carried out, for the achievement of the mentioned objectives, were the following: • Summary of the legal scope applicable to the project. • Characterization of natural habitats and protected areas present in the island (fragmentation diagnosis). • Development of a Habitat Adaptation Model based on a permeability analysis using a set of selected species with the support of a scientific council. • Modeling of "patches" or connectivity nodes based on the previous model. • Cost-distance analysis for the determination of ecological corridors (more than 300 analyzes carried out to detect corridors in 7 types of ecosystems). • Analysis of the ecological connectivity of the wet ravines. • Analysis of the points of tension of ecological corridors with communication and transport routes. • Presentation of results in various conferences and seminars.

Summary: The objective of this project is the identification and characterization of the Ecological Corridors Network of Tenerife Island. This network, formed by areas of high ecological connectivity, aims to improving the coherence of the Natura 2000 protected areas and the conservation of the island biodiversity. In order to ensure the permeability of a heterogeneous and complex territory such as Tenerife island, a holistic and functional approach was applied to the connectivity analysis. This kind of analysis is based, not only on the structure, but also on the dynamics of landscape functioning at different scales. The analysis was based on the territorial adequacy modeling for a series of flora and fauna target species, using GIS tools such as CorridorDesigner and Spatial Analyst by ArcSIG. These analyzes were complemented with an intense bibliographic review and field sampling to verify the actual adequacy of the identified corridors.

Client/Date/Budget: Regional Government of Galicia (Spain) / May - Nov 2017 / 14,500.00 €

Summary: This project responds to the demand, on the part of the Environment Department of Xunta de Galicia, for the preparation of a study of the current state and alternatives for use in the mobile dune of the Corrubedo Natural Park. Recently, there has been a tendency to decrease in height of the mobile dune of the complex, which could be due to various causes of anthropogenic and / or natural origin. In any case, an analysis of the relationship between the current state of the dune and the public use of the space is required in order to evaluate possible alternative options for public use compatible with the conservation of the dune and the natural site. Currently access to the mobile dune is limited by a wooden walkway and a perimeter fence around the space occupied by the dune, designed with the aim of avoiding the intrusion into the dune space and facilitate the visit to the complex. The objective of this study is to assess the current state of the dune and the existing public use to propose recommendations for public use that can facilitate the enjoyment of space by visitors ensuring the protection of the dune ecosystem. The scope of it has been:

DRAFTING OF THE CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE NATURAL MONUMENT "FRAGA DE CATASOS” (SPAIN)

STUDY OF THE DUNE EVOLUTION IN THE NATURAL PARK OF CORRUBEDO DUNE COMPLEX AND CARREGAL AND VIXÁN LAKES (SPAIN)

- Dynamic analysis of the dune (morphology and movement) over time and expected trends in the evolution of the dune: investigation of secondary documentary sources. - On-site assessment of the current state of the dune and access for visitors: visit to the dune complex and observation of the dune from various points to assess the global status of the mobile

dune and the perception from the visitor's point of view. - Identification and assessment of alternatives for use and expected impact: systematization and analysis of the collected information during the execution of the previous actions in order to

identify possible alternatives for public use and assessment of the expected impact of each one (positive and negative impacts). - Conclusions and recommendations: based on the previous study, preparation of recommendations for use aimed at meeting the objectives of the Natural Park while ensuring the use and

enjoyment of space by visitors in safety and sustainability.

Summary: The centennial forest of Fraga de Catasós is considered a Natural Monument due to the majesty of its trees. SNOWY PLOVER CONSERVATION AND AWARENESS PLAN IN THE INFLUENTIAL AREA OF THE ATLANTIC ISLANDS OF GALICIA MARITIMUM-TERRESTRIAL NATIONAL PARK (SPAIN) Client/Date/Budget: National Parks Management Board (Spain) / 2008-2009 / 42,225.00 €

Summary: The Snowy plover is a mud bird threatened across the whole national territory. In Galicia this species is very connected to the coast and we can find them only in a small number of beaches. Due to beach users’ lack of information and, especially, to indiscriminate use (presence of pets and vehicles), its reproductive success has diminished considerably, from what there stems a regressive population trend.

Our aims were to report and to sensitize the local population and occasional visitors on the situation of this species in the influential area of the National Park, to

put in value this species as a fundamental part of the natural heritage in the area and to foment a respectful use of the beaches, to lay the foundations that make

public use compatible with the conservation of a species on the verge of extinction.

and HIDRIA the elaboration of a viability study , with the main aim of looking for new locations for a new sewage treatment plant that could gather part of the

waters that the first one was receiving, as a complement to sewage treatment in the whole municipality.
