Kolowag is brand of Vagonoremonten Zavod-99/VRZ-99/ AD Septemvri, Bulgaria.

Company History

l  - Vagonoremonten zavod-99 AD was established in 1941 as a railway-carriage repair workshop. Its activity included performing of average repair of passenger and fright wagons with spacing of 760 mm and 1435 mm.

l  - 1983 was build first production hall in Bulgaria for repair and completing of wheel-sets. Up to the present moment the “VRZ-99”AD.- Septemvri is the only one enterprise in the country for production repair and completing of wheel-sets.

l  - 1999 after successful privatization, the enterprise becomes private. Up to the present moment all the shareholders are working in the company.

l  - In the year 1999 the company had l  230 employees, EUR 500 000,-- turnover and production halls of 8 000 m2 . l  - Nowadays, after big investment program (12 mio Euro) started in 2006 the company has

grown to l  1100 employees, EUR 54 000 000,-- turnover and production halls of 45 000 m2

WHEEL SETS

Our experience is based on 25 years tradition equipping all kind of railway vehicles: l  Freight wagons; l  Passenger wagons; l  Locomotives; l  Trams; l  Metro/Tube; l  Diesel-Electric Trains; l  Narrow gauge trains; Special vehicles for rail maintenance. Since the very beginning the wheel sets have being produced under the UIC leaets. Last years were implemented the Euro Norms as well as the TSI WAG regulations We produce wheel sets for freight cars with: ¡ 25 tons, axle load ¡ 23.5 tons, axle load ¡ 20 tons axle load Wheel sets for Passenger coaches ¡ WSs with brake discs for 200 km/h ¡ Driving WSs Thanks to the huge investment program started in 2006 worth 12 mil Euro. Kolowag is proud to be one of the leading European wheel sets

producers approved according TSI for 4 different types of wheel sets and by DB for new production as well as for repair of wheel sets. For all types of Repairs Kolowag is certified from VPI.

Kolowag has most modern equipment for wheel sets production and more especially for Quality Control, which eliminates the “Human Mistake” factor

Production of Freight Wagons

The production lines are build according to the latest TSI standard. The factory posses welding certificate according EN15085-2 ¡ Platform/Container wag. - Sgnss, Rgns etc ¡  Open Box wagons -Eanos, Eaos, etc. ¡  Tank Wagons – Zas, Zaens etc 38 m3 ; 78 m3; 85 m3;

Passenger coaches

l  Production of new passenger cars;– l  Revamping of old passenger cars and transforming them in new modern passenger coaches:

New model of Powerful Air-conditioning system 36KW, New heating system, New anti-re system, New power supply system, New digital system controlling all the systems mentioned above.Toned anti sun windows screwfree, Ergonomic seats with collect-in tables, cup-bottle holders, Automatic outside electro-pneumatic doors, Tables for portable notebooks with 220V switches.Modern luggage-racks with built-in LED lights for reading,Compartment-free type of the salon, Floor covers, underoor, side and ceiling coatings from module type made of long life materials with the highest reproof class “B”, New break system Knorr Bremse, a world wide known manufacturer, which guarantees save stops, low level of noise and high speed.– Repair of all types of passenger cars passenger cars.

The production of brake cylinders is performed by unique rolling equipment. The screws of the screw couplers and the Brake Regulators are preformed by Rolling not cutting of

the screw.
