ItakaneICT has initiated various projects at New Jerusalem Children’s Home -

Borehole Water supply

We have donated funds to erect a borehole. With New Jerusalem Children’s home looking into various ways of cutting costs while maintaining or improving its service to its beneficiaries, addressing its water concerns was viewed as a valuable avenue to help the home. This project has seen the home saving an average of R200 000 per annum for water.

The Raspberry PI project

We have been Instrumental in securing a partnership in the erection and running of South Africa’s first computer lab using the Raspberry PI technology, a small device that fits in ones palm and can replace as CPU by allowing plug in points for monitors, memory, and the mouse. This project was conceptualized by its American counterparts as a new dynamic way to generate interest, inspire, and enable the children of NJCH to pursue careers in computer science and technology.


Corporate Social Development (CSD)Our CSD policy is central to the existence of our brand and values as a truly committed and empowered South African Enterprise. We have adopted a process to identify CSD Projects that have a direct social impact on our society and have the potential to become self-sustainable. Below are some of our projects.

Community Empowerment

We have participated in the solar energy project, a bursary programme, house Helios & Vesterbakery project, Perma-culture food garden. All of the above projects have assisted the home to become independent and self sustainable.

TrustAfrica is an NGO located in Dakar, Senegal. They seek to strengthen African initiatives that address the most difficult challenges confronting the continent. They work principally through collaboration and partnerships with like mined institutions and donors. As a catalyst and convener, they are committed to generating and testing new ideas. Itakane ICT has partnered with TrustAfrica for programmes in South Africa.

We are providing financial support, unlimited admin and ICT support to Dignity Dreams. They are a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) which focuses on helping South Africa’s young girls and women meet their personal hygiene requirements. Dignity Dreams has given 19 previously unemployed women the opportunity to run their own businesses by training them to sew its products. The overarching goal of Dignity Dreams is to ensure that every underprivileged girl and woman in South Africa – and beyond – receive a Dignity Dreams pack so that they are able to attend school, university or work.

Khonology was founded in February 2013 with the aim of targeting the high level of corporate dependency on foreign and external technology service providers. Khonology is an African services company that provides world class business solutions with the vision of empowering Africa. We have partnered with them to provide potential graduates to the programme.

Shule foundation is an NPO founded in Uganda. They have embarked on building a school in a deserving community. Itakane ICT has provided R 240k towards a borehole project that will irrigate a farm. The proceeds of the production of the farm go directly towards building the school. We have further committed to building an ICT Raspberry PI Lab.

The Maths 4 Africa programme was designed by iTakane ICT as an educator development programme that aims at providing essential support and training to Mathematics Teachers. This is a fully funded project by us. We are working in partnership with various NGO’s and the respective education bodies.

There has been an increase in the number of people with diabetes from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. Diabetes among adults over 18 years of age has risen from 4.7% in 1980 to 8.5% in 2014. Diabetes can lead to a number of disease.
