Maizey's (Pty) Ltd., a South African based company founded in 1950, has
established itself as the largest, distributor of Engineering & Industrial
Plastics, Signage and Glazing Materials, Digital Print Media, Aluminium Sign Systems, Signage and Architectural Illumination, and Point of Purchase components to industry in Southern
Africa.
Founded in 1950, by Richard Maizey. From humble beginnings in Schubart Street, Pretoria.

Company History
Ÿ 1950 - Founder, Dick Maizey opens “R.J Maizey, Diesinkers and Engravers” in Pretoria.
Ÿ 1970 - Maizey appointed as the first South African distributor for “Perspex”. The beginning of plastics distribution for the company.
Ÿ 1977 - The start of national expansion. First branch opens in Johannesburg.
Ÿ 1980 - Formal board of directors appointed, coupled with expansion into Kwazulu Natal and Western Cape with the opening of two sales branches.
Ÿ 1981 - Exclusive S.A. distributor for ERTA Engineering Plastics. Later to become DSM EPP and at present Quadrant EPP.
Ÿ 1987 - First R10 million turnover.Ÿ 1990 - Appointed exclusive S.A. distributor for
Grafityp Selfadhesive Products. By 1993 Maizey will be their top customer for the year.
Ÿ 1992 - Finalist in the South African Non-Listed company awards.
Ÿ 1996 - The start of African expansion with cross border exports to Zimbabwe. Back in South Africa, the Maizey group has grown to ten sales branches.
Ÿ 2002 - Maizey purchases a new 23 000 sq.m under roof Logistics Center in Wadeville, Johannesburg.
Ÿ 2007 - Twenty sales branches in the group.Ÿ 2009 - Opening of a new Kwazulu Natal Logistics
Hub.

Representatives and 77 Internal Sales Staff)! A fleet of 63 branded delivery vehicles provide a
daily delivery service.! 60 Product Groups with an estimated 5200
individual product items.! National Logistics Centre in Wadeville, Gauteng
with 8000 sq.m under roof warehousing.! Secondary Distribution Hubs in both Pinetown,
Kwazulu Natal and Cape Town, Eastern Cape.! 33 706.88 sq.m total under roof warehouse space in
the Maizey group.

Engineering Plastics
Maizey's national distribution network services all of South Africa's prime economic reg ions and expo r t s to several Southern African states.
With 24 sales branches, we have the largest distribution network of its kind in Southern Africa. This positions Maizey as a highly effective supplier with greater customer service efficiencies.
National Logistics Centers are located in Gauteng & Kwazulu Natal from where bu lk warehous ing fac i l i t ies are managed.
