The name of the company “Moteko” is a Tswana name fora hut, which simply translates to shelter. Moteko is a wholly black owned South AfricanQuantity Surveying, Project and ProgrammeManagement consulting firm founded in 2003,offering its services to the Built Environmentspectrum. The company has over the yearsevolved from being a Quantity Surveying,Project and Programme Management consultingfirm into an Integrated and Sustainable HumanSettlements Implementing Agent. Moteko is runby qualified and registered professionals withinthe various segments of the built environment.

Tebogo Kukama is a co-founder ofMoteko, a professional ConstructionProject Manager (SACPCMP, RegistrationNo D/1395/2006) and a professionallyregistered Quantity Surveyor with theSouth African Council for QuantitySurveyor (PrQs - Registration No 2742).
She is also a professional member ofthe ASAQS (Association of South AfricanSurveyors- No. 3986). She is qualifiedand highly skilled in both fields ofQuantity Surveying and financialanalysis, portfolio management andproperty management.
Mrs Kukama obtained the following keyqualifications:

Madoda Vilakazi is a co-founder of Motekoand is a professionally registered QuantitySurveyor with the South African Councilfor the Quantity Surveying Profession(PrQs - Registration No 3004). He is alsoa professional member of the ASAQS(Association of South African QuantitySurveyors No. 3005). With qualificationsin both Quantity Surveying and MarketingManagement, he has held numerous seniormanagement and technical positions asa Quantity Surveyor and Project Managerprior to setting up Moteko ConstructionCost Consultants and Project Managers.
Mr Vilakazi obtained the following keyqualifications:

Mr Vilakazi’s key experience includeproject planning & analysis, ProgrammeManagement, project conceptdevelopment, project feasibity and viabitystudies, value engineering on both capitalwork and maintenance in the public sector,Project and Programme Management forroads based on EPWP Projects. He alsohas experience on public sector housingincluding amongst others, communityresidential units and low cost housing. Property Development and Management servicesmainly focuses of turnkey projects where Motekoacts as the Implementing Agent (IA). Althoughthe focus is on both private and public sectordevelopment, a majority of the current projectsare on the public sector where we are assistinglocal municipalities respond to the provision ofSustainable Human Settlement Developmentbased on the BNG Policy (Break New Ground) andStrategy.
Based on the BNG Policy (Break New Ground) andStrategy the focus and support by Moteko is onthe following government housing subsidies:
• Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) Urban and Rural;
• Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP) / Social Housing; and
