hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our

hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." - Romans 5:3-5

This may be the first time we've walked into January without the sense of hope

that normally comes with a new year. So many have been pummeled by recent

events and are feeling shaken, overwhelmed and wary of what comes next.

Fortunately for Christ followers, these emotions can be combatted with biblical

truths. He promises to be present, faithful and in control of all things.

When you new years resolutions fall flat...when plans are cut short by events

outside of your control...how do you react? Are you met with feelings of

resentment and discontentment? Anger or self-conceit? Or hope and joy?

This month, we invite you to write about your battle between despair and hope.
