YXZ1000R® DRIVERS CLAIM MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT CRANDON WISCONSIN FINALE! Legendary Crandon International Raceway recently hosted the final round of the Lucas Oil® Mid-West Off Road Championship series and the 50,000+ fans were treated to an epic race between the best talent from East and West coast drivers. In Saturday’s Pro Stock race, JM2 Maxxis® Yamaha sponsored Brock Heger qualified first and started on the pole and never relinquished the lead despite a heated battle with Myles Cheek and Greaves Motorsports/ Mutant Super Soda Yamaha CJ Greaves while series point leader Ryan Mulder finished 10th and secured his first Championship in his Snow Dawg/ Greaves YXZ. In the Pro Mod SxS class also on Saturday, Rodney VanEperen played it safe in the race finishing in fourth place clinching his first Pro Mod championship. Finally, Sunday’s race action featured the Crandon World Championship event. CJ Greaves regrouped from Saturday’s podium finish to completely dominate the field to secure the biggest single event win in short course off-road racing. CAMERON BEAUBIER WINS 2018 MOTOAMERICA® SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP AND JD BEACH WINS 2018 SUPERSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP AT NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK! Monster Energy®/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing’s Cameron Beaubier claimed his 3rd AMA® MotoAmerica® Superbike championship this weekend by finishing 3rd in Saturday’s race and winning Sunday’s rain-drenched race in dramatic fashion by over 13 seconds, his 32nd victory of his career. Saturday’s race was won by Josh Herrin with Mathew Scholtz finishing in 2nd. Monster Energy®/Yamaha Extended Service/Graves/Yamaha’s JD Beach also wrapped up his second-career AMA® Supersport title by finishing 2nd in Saturday’s race which was won by Hayden Gillim with Richie Escalante finishing 3rd in yet another Yamaha YZF-R6® sweep. Sunday’s Supersport action once again saw a Yamaha sweep with newly crowned champion, JD Beach taking the win, followed by Hayden Gillim in 2nd and Anthony Mazziotto in 3rd. In the Junior Cup series, YZF-R3® riders swept the podium on both Saturday and Sunday with Kevin Olmendo taking the win on Saturday followed by Marc Edwards in 2nd and Jay Newton in 3rd. On Sunday, Jay Newton took his first Junior Cup class victory with Cory Ventura in 2nd and Joseph Blasius in 3rd. ANGLER BRETT KING WINS 2018 CABELA’S® NATIONAL WALLEYE TOUR ANGLER OF THE YEAR! Yamaha angler Brett King sealed the deal this weekend for the 2018 Cabela’s® National Walleye Tour AOY anchored by a 5th place finish at the championship round held in Baudette, Minnesota. 2017 Cabela’s® National Walleye Tour AOY, Robert Blosser, had a solid 3rd place finish at the championship with just one round remaining. MOVISTAR® YAMAHA SEAL 5TH AND 7TH IN SAN MARINO RACE Movistar® Yamaha MotoGP®’s Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi showed persistence at this weekend’s Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. Though they lost valuable time at the start of the race at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, they kept their concentration and crossed the finish line in 5th and 7th place respectively.
