1 Welcome competitors and explain that you need a few words with them to try to ensure the competition runs smoothly.

2 Score CardsAsk players to check their cards to ensure that their name and handicap is recorded correctly. Check they have

exchanged cards.

3 Have you checked the number of clubs in your bag?Request that competitors identify their golf ball to playing partners.

4 Advise competitors of any local rules in place?5 Pace of Play

To keep play moving, it is their responsibility to keep up with the match ahead, not simply to stay ahead of the match behind. Pace of Play Time 4hrs 2mins

6 Please play without undue delay.If a golf ball is lost, call the players behind through immediately.

Should you be in doubt as to whether a ball is either out of bounds or lost, a provisional ball should be declared and played as such under rule 27-2.

Stableford - If at any stage a competitor in unable to score then he should pick up his ball and play no further part in that hole.

7 Suspension of playShould it be necessary for the Committee to suspend play you MUST cease play immediately on hearing

one continuous blast on the klaxon.Do not recommence play until you hear short blasts on the klaxon.

8 On completion of your round check your scorecard carefully and ensure that there are two signatures and your handicap on it before returning it to the recorders.

9 Announce Players Onto The Tee Giving Name & Club

10 Wish players well for their round.
