Motivation for the CEP Standards Session

• Complex Event Processing (CEP) technology is an essential complement to SOA for near real time operations

• CEP Engines are being used successfully in large scale mission-critical applications e.g. algorithmic training, intelligence

• Interoperability standards across CEP Engines (e.g. for event exchange) will be necessary for cross-organization collaboration

• These standards are technically feasible but are not being driven forward by current single CEP engine applications

• The purpose of this Session is to explore possible ways to accelerate standards development to support future multiple CEP engine deployments
